Shaun, you definitely have too much time in your hands building all sorts of concoctions . It really looks good. Make sure you post some vids :party:.

How about something like a Tornado Intercept Vehicle (T.I.V.)? Also, if u don't want paint everywhere, u could get some of the reuseable rubber paintballs?, cops use it as a less than lethal round:yes:.

t-maxxracer32 10.06.2008 02:43 PM

it would suck having to run around looking for the paintballs though

then again if you have kids i am sure they would have fun doing that:lol:

I think you need the onboard cam with a HUD. I would also add a self righting mechanism - the less you have to go near that thing the better!

bustitup 10.06.2008 04:43 PM

I think you should add an onboard self distruct servo...if a bunch of trucks get you cornered you flip a switch and take out anything within 3 feet

hmm wouldnt be too hard to do, big servo with an arm.

make it do a barrel roll!

that is the most badass rc thing ive ever seen. if you can try to put a laser pointer or even a camera on it, so you can track what your killing!

Even easier, just have a servo attached to a nail that punctures the on-board lipos.

I actuallly built a self-righting mechanism for a stampede. It's the ideal vehicle to use for self righting because it flips over so much and has ample space under the body between the chassis for the mechanism. I found out that you have to use a really strong servo, and brace it to the chassis very well, as the lexan flexes under the load. The 'pede weighed 4.3lb with a 2s lipo installed, and rustler tires. I used a 645mg servo, that'd been modified to have a lower gear ratio, so it'd run about half the speed. The righting mechanish would come out of the body, and was a flap of sorts- I cut out a square-ish hole in the body that the flap would sit into. I had the servo mounted adjacent to the body, laying flat against it. I set the servo trim set all the way to the left, and it would come up slowly, the high edge of the flap raising about 2in above the top of the cab of the body. It was located in the front of the cab, and would flip the truck over, with the rear wheels hitting first. I've got to admit, it wasn't easy making it, especially the gear reduction. You shoulda' seen the look on my friend's face when he saw my truck randomly right itself! :mdr:

Wouldn't that go too slow to do any real damage?

Unfortunately you can't exactly add channels to a Radio. You might consider the Spektrum DX5e. It's under $100, 5 Channels, and despite being made for planes it will probably meet your needs. I use a DX6i on my Crawler and it works perfectly and gets great range. The DX6i or DX7 would work even better for you as they are 6 and 7 channel radios respectively and have switches for the channels 5-7.
