Well I have had both too, I even though the slash is really tough, it's kind of like throwing a piece of plast around. But that IMO. Adn I think the savage has better handling characterstics for bashing, the weight helps a lot.

4x4 servo saver
anyone else ever notice how crappy/weak the 4x4 slash servo saver is? been fighting on -power push since ive been racing this thing for about a year or so. was doing some matinence/cleaning today and was shocked to see how little force it takes to make the servo saver slip. added some shims to tightem it up but it is still pretty pathetic in my opinion. will probably end up just gluing the stupid thing together but just wanted to see if i was the only lucky one to run into this problem.
looked around and found an aluminum adjustible unit from hot racing (HR) for $30. comes with an aluminum draglink too for less slop. deciding whether or not its worth the money to fix the poor design or just glue it down..... |

Well after a month of axle twisting and breaking within 5 minutes of a fresh pack I Finally discover after doing a complete diff rebuild that my FLM Axle cups in my slash 4x4 are causing my diffs to "spool" intermittently and causing extreme torque damage to my axles.
All new internals and all. I sheared heads off FLM alxles, sheard MIPs and destroyed plastics :surprised:. After returning to stock plastic diff cups I FINALLY got to run 2 complete battery packs . You can see in the cups where the side spider gears are grinding into the cases. Is/was there a bad batch or am I a lucky winner of a one off chicken dinner? lol. Haven't contacted FLM as of yet about the diff cups altho I do not expect any troubles of getting this remedied. Now to ship it all back.:P @ least the center diff and mount are holding up flawlessly :yipi:. |
I have 2 center diff al cups from FLM that I cannot get the gears to sit in correctly no matter what I do..(ordered 2 by mistake) anyone else have this prob. For now I went back to the plastic cup only in the center
