G, you nailed it. Good post.

Its all china's fault! CC, if you cant get the chips, capacitors, and circuit boards you need, there are these things called vacuum tubes, and contactors! Still waitning on those pesky plactic cases to be manufactured? No problem, Rubbermaid makes a mean trash can, I'm sure they can build a case for you, they might even be able to put wheels on it too! JK.

In reality I think 99.9% here are strong fans and supporters of CC, thats really not the issue - 99.8% are all just a bit miffed of not having the MMM yet and being told soon soon soon... who wouldn't be... This thread is just lots of testosterone filled venting... Very therapeutic really... I don't actually expect anyone from CC to read this - do you? |

I for one, would like to thank CC for making the great little MM. I have beaten the tar out of mine (all 7 of them!), and had excellent results. The value for money is great, as is the performance. I would also like to thank them for making the MMM, as it will fill an important need, even if it is not the huge seller that the MM is. I can't blame them for bringing out other products first, as the sidewinder and the sw micro are volume sellers, and appear to a much wider audience. Plus I love the ccbec, great little item there! Big props to CC for making great products! |
I have to say something and I am gonna do it publicaly. Castle Creations! I am Very Sorry. I have to say that the worst enemy of these forums is believeing what everyone else says and not following the the true reality of what it takes to actually make this happen. There may had been some dates thrown but in all honesty, Nothing was ever set in stone. Just posts and it was to the best of my recolection possiblities, Not actuals!
I am still awaiting the MMM upon its arrival and will wait patiently. Im sorry to stir the pot to those members I may of mislead in the whole undertsanding based on hearsay! |

I think for some the anticipation is kinda like when Beavis and Butthead got to the point in their movie and thought it was "that time" and it still wasn't and then Butthead was like whatever then Beavis freaked. "It's never gonna happen" and yadda yadda yadda. Some of the posters on here are like Beavis and the others like Butthead. Beavis thinks the world has ended because of all the angst he created for himself and not having the satisfaction of "release" while Butthead just takes it in stride and moves on knowing in his heart that "his" time will come.
One key thing is that Beavis' reacton did nothing to help the situation or make it come to fruition and Butthead always had the lower blood pressure and would occasionally have to smack Beavis so he would snap out of it. So learn a life lesson from our friends Beavis and Butthead and calm down and go on and don't listen to everyone and just enjoy life. :na: :rofl: |

Are you ok John, you look horrible. But that is what you get when you try to fight cats in the bathroom.

I haven't read much on here where people are "pissed off" at CC. I simply see criticism of the way they handled the communication of this MMM to the public and people relating their view of the situation to their personal perspective. I can't speak for anyone else on here, But I certainly am not "living-n-dying" over the MMM as you said. If/when the MMM is finally released I will likely get one to run and evaluate. Hopefully it is "all that and a bag of chips" like everyone is expecting at this point. But that is yet to be seen by anyone. If CC feels that most of the communication out there has all been "off the record" hearsay, they have had more than ample time and opportunity to clarify the companies true position and fix this situation. There have been countless posts on many forums from many different people from the CC organization, up to and including the president of the company, giving different pieces of this "off the record" info that continued to feed all of the expectations that have come and gone over the last couple years. CC chose to make a big splash way to early on this project... I think that is pretty clear and impossible to argue with. This was a mistake that I think they will admit to, but since that time they have continued to perpetuate this early mistake. They continued to confuse their potential customers with a series of less than official dates and pieces of information slowly leaking out over time and in different manners. Phone conversations with customer service, emails responding to questions then posted to forums, and many posts in many forums from many CC representatives all giving little pieces of info that are left open to interpretation by the consumers. How can CC possibly be annoyed at the consumer for being confused and disappointed. The information they gave has been many things... vague, confusing, many times conflicting, sometimes specific, yet ultimately inaccurate. And... it continues to be that way. There are 2 ways for them to actually help themselves. 1) Stop giving silly, useless and inaccurate pieces of information in places like this and other forums, phone conversations, and emails. All this does is serve to feed the unfortunate situation. (sounds like that may actually be happening now) 2) Take an official position, communicate it clearly in some official manner. (like their website) Then Boom.... No more confused consumers. This is a mess that they created... Only they can fix it. All the talk and boloney on this and other forums only serves to make the situation worse. |
I think this got blown out of proportion. People get mad when they don't set a date. People get mad when they mention a tentative date. CC can't win. If I was them, I wouldn't say a damn thing ever again...until the day it's out. No matter how pissed off you'all get, you're going to flock to the store/site to get it. They probably have a bunch of them ready to go, but they are waiting for more before they release. Think of the PR if they released the MMM, but with limited availability.
|
I figured the whole thing out about 8 months ago. When it's ready for purchase, we'll be able to get one. Even the surest guesstimated release date is speculation at best. In my mind, it is a race. The winner of the race, be it Mamba, Quark, or Tekin, will be the first to get my money. In the mean time, my 125b/Neu combo has been flawless for well over a year now, so I don't care who wins the race or takes my money.

"I can neither confirm nor deny..."
That's all we can expect from here on out, and I can't blame Castle. I'm sure they would do things different if they could go back and do over. But they honestly didn't know it would have been delayed so long. I think nobody is more upset than Joe and the boys at CC, so we need to give them a break. If any of you guys still talk to Shawn Palmer... you know that his experience at CC with the Mamba 25 and MM have taught him a lesson. His philosophy is to not say anything until the product is done. BUT.... his new company (Schumacher) still does the same thing sometimes... leaking info too early and making everyone wait, without a firm date. But he's not happy when they do that.... cause he's the one stuck dealing with the consumer. |

"Right now, the Monster is ready -- all parts in stock to build 2500 pcs. Just no cases. It's a shame too, because we thought that the packing would be the last thing to arrive -- and we've had boxes for almost three weeks now." |
I'll be happy with heatshrink as a casing.
|
Dude, buy some legos and some CA glue and make your own cases.

...or mod a RadioShack project enclosure...

Direction.
Come on guys lets not go off in another direction again:lol:. CC will work this out on their own in house so they can keep everything in their court. If it delays the release so be it. This is their problem and they have to finish what they started. Be patient and lets stop being so hard on them. None of us wants to wait, but that is just the nature of the beast. At least they are nearly ready to release 2500 units, which is great for us:yes:. From my view at least they will not run out of MMM's within a few days, and everyone who wants one should be able to get their hands on one:yes:. I am willing to bet that some of us will buy two of them right off the bat, because we know it will be worth it. Delivery time is nearly here.:yipi::party:

Here we go heatshrink for the people o/

Perhaps a RC-Monster special edition with heatshrink.

On RCGroups, Patrick said part of the delay was that they wanted the esc to run with RTR AM radio's and no interference. I wish they had said this first off, but its nice to know everyone will be able to run it without upgrades (at least not radio upgrades).

They probably want it to work with an RTR radio so that they can "partner" with one of the car companies & make a E-RTR 1/8th.
|
Ouch.
Ouch curbs can hurt. Hope your truck was not too badly broken. Still you are correct. If you are going to play with the kind of power that we expect from the MMM then you should have a better than RTR radio in hand to use it. I would think before long everyone will be running with synthisized computer radios with proprietory controls for the lack of signal loss. Of course it would be nice if the cost of those radios would come down some for the average R/C enthusiest.

They just try to hit the largest number of customer possible, The sidewinder is a good example
