if only everyone could understand this. not to be rude but it is not a hard concept. yes takes a little knowledge but anyone can learn this.

Thanks for the example I get the formula now.:party:By the way my MMM has run perfect:whip:I am just a backyard basher but want to learn as much as possible about lipo ratings to protect my investment in my MA batteries.:mdr:

By watching this thread, I am starting to believe Patrick and Joe have the patience of Job!

This whole panic mentality has got me cracking up though, it's the same thing that happened to traxxas over the EVX2. A handful of problems and it becomes a total pandemic!

People, stop, breathe, read, and learn! Your life will be better for it.

Phatmonk, one day I am gonna crack my screen trying to kill that little cockroach, then I will send you the bill. :rules: :na::lol:

With all this MMM talk I took my Losi 8T outside for a little romp in da grass. All I can say is WOW! 20 minutes and the 13.4 cutoff hadnt tripped yet.The motor was the only thing I would consider warm and thats in med high grass with plenty o wheelies.I need wheels on my wings:diablo:You guys at Castle have done real well!!!!Why would you ever need to give it more than 1/2 throttle:whip:

lutach 05.15.2008 04:11 PM

There should be a sticky called, "Never listen the a BS guy by the name of RURC".

TexasSP 05.15.2008 04:28 PM

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I started coughing on that one!

Make this a sticky now! :rules:

Good one lutach, but I think linc is starting to rub off on you. :diablo:

I wasn't playing. There should be a Sticky telling all of us that we should be on the look out for people with cheap information. I'm pretty sure the guys at rctech feel the same way about me, but hey when I hit them with the real info, I hit them hard. I try to get real info from the people that makes our very valuable R/C goodies. I'm pretty sure lincpimp will come up with something better .

I just got done blowing the sidewall out of a tire on one of the new Emaxx's...first time I punched the throttle. 6s lipo, one of our prototype motors, stock spur and 24T pinion....EASY gearing on this setup!!!

So some of us just get done waiting to get our Monsters in our hands and you have to go and tell us about the new motors too, huh? :na:

By the time the new motors are available, I just hope to be healed from the beating I'm going to take when my wife finds out I bought 3 Monsters.:whip:

mkrusedc 05.15.2008 10:59 PM

These panic threads are good though because if you sit back and wait for the smart guys to weigh in us noobs can actualy learn alot.

lincpimp 05.15.2008 11:00 PM

I would not suggest using a 4s 4000 20c lipo (maxamps) with a 2000kv (or so) motor in a MT with a MMM. It will not be enough, unless you gear for 30mph or less. Only experience speaking here...

TexasSP 05.15.2008 11:02 PM

Well, I learned that mine failed today. Although I am glad it died quickly instead of down the road when I wasn't just doing a test run. I will say the controller was awesome while it ran, super smooth pushing an align 600XL. Slow speeds were great with no cogging from takeoff.

hootie7159 05.15.2008 11:18 PM

texas.... where did your monster come from?

Not too sure what to think about the RURC. I guess he means well, but is not quite there with his info. Maybe he knows about other things? I know quite a bit about rc, but if I were to start giving out info about re-winding outrunner motors, it would be wrong, as I have no idea how to do that. So I keep my mouth shut, and wait for people for experience to chime in.

I am really at a loss as to why the battery situation is such a big deal. I guess I now understand how to choose batterys. If you have a setup that is working fine with a mm and upgrade to a mmm, nothing has changed. The mmm may run cooler, and give the option to go up to 6s lipo, and have a built in bec that works up to 6s. That is it. Maybe someone needs to make a sticky out of that?

Main problems with public forums is that there will always be dumbasses out there that want to be right, regardless if they are or not, like this RURC, and Jason from NK (had to throw him in!). I try to keep out of the poo tossing, but saying that enerland cells are junk, who believes that? I usually find that if one thing in someones rant is wrong/BS, the rest of it is most likely crap too.

I just hate to see less experienced users trying to get their heads around all of this false info. It is difficult enough as it is, all of this BS just adds to the confusion. Plus, when you hear someone trying to justify their reasoning by being in the hobby with x number of years of experience, just remember this: Just because you have done something a bunch of times does not mean you have done it right once.
