Awsome project
Really Joe that is an awsome build project. The only way to outdo something like that is to use real 24k gold plating and create a serious jewel work of art. What you have done is after all these years of Maxx trucks, you have taken them to a totally new level. I love the combination of colors and that truck is simply incredible. I really look forward to seeing your latest build completed.

I've said it before, and I can say it again. It is truly a beauty you have created Joe. Well done.

Nothing short of stunning, just beautiful!

Wow! That is a truly nice truck! I was skeptical on the marble effect on the anodizing, but that turned out quite nice! Especially on the wheels!!

See this is why I like collecting and building trucks. We here think it is great and I really appreciate all the kind words on my builds. That really means a lot to me, heck part of the fun is hunting the parts down then getting it ready for assembly. I take a great amount of time to make sure everything is just the way I want it and then building it is a ton of fun. I enjoy just the sheer beauty that a nice tricked out Maxx is all about. I used to flip threw the RC mags when I was younger and broke and just dreamed of someday having some of the radical builds you saw in the magazines back then. Well now I am kind of living some of my dreams of when I was young. I never would have thought I would be in the position to have some really cool RC's and get some awesome comments and compliments from fellas like you. It is great !! I am happy I built this truck and I look forward to the next one, and the next one, and the next one....ahhhhh
I would also like to take all of your wonderful comments and jam them right up the azzez of all the haters that post up in our threads wanting to know why we are so pathetic to spend money on something like a shelf queen. Always posting " what's the point " if we don't run it and beat it to death or just stare at it ( which I like to do ). Because I can.......it is mine. :diablo: |

At first my wife thought I was crazy childish but now she sees I mean business. Still, a lot of people don't really understand but usually they come around and get very impressed when they actually get to touch the trucks and see them driving. Your builds are an inspiration, J. Love it! Keep 'em coming, please. :mdr: |
I have two words for the fully pimped-out, full-blown Supermaxxes that we build...
[1] PRICELESS! [2] INVESTMENT! |

I am busy getting a couple Clods ready for my daughter. She wants to take them to school and do a show and tell before school gets out so I am getting her 2nd truck done this weekend so she can take em to school. Here is her CPE " Pet Shop Crusher " Terminator : |
More info on the Clods? Or perhaps a build thread? I have some clod axles and I want to build them up, most likely in a crawler style. However, I would like another paid of axles to build a MT like yours pictured.

Sorry for the bad pic quality, I had to use my phone to take these pics.

Again, sorry for the bad quality, but at least you can see what I have so far... like I said, I am collecting all of the really rare & cool chassis first, and then I will start building each one completely one at a time once I have all of the chassis. Most likely I will build the eMaxxler first, but I need VBS for it first, VBS-T probably! (The fully-Built VBS/Lightning/16mm Racer-X SM is AMAZING LOOKING when I use a real camera to take pics of it!) |
I got all the differential units out yesterday to start getting these ready to go. I had a couple used units that had not seen hardly any run time but one had a busted piece in it so I wanted to take them completely apart and inspect them plus fill them with new oil. The center diff is virtually brand new but I have to change the oil and put the center spur gear on. So lets get to it!
UE / Ofna Spyder 8's for F/C/R http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...entialwork.jpg The guts do not look too bad on this front one. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...finternals.jpg Got it filled and ready to go, 10K and Gorilla Snawt for the front and a good shot of Moo-slick on the cases and bearing seats and a good soaking on the bearings themselves. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...forinstall.jpg http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...fffinished.jpg Rear guts were missing the small spyder shims so I had to dig through my diff parts and find some. Glad I took these apart! 7K weight going in the rear. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...ldoverview.jpg http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...rgearshims.jpg These cases turned out pretty sweet with the yellow anodizing. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...alitecases.jpg http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...ks/Diffjob.jpg http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...rsfinished.jpg I will be getting the center diff done today. The front diff was a piece of cake to shim and get rolling smooth but the rear one was a bummer. Had to take that thing apart a bunch of times to get the shimming done correctly but I managed to find the sweet spot. Another cool thing about these mats is that you can leave a shop towel on it for the greasy stuff and it still keeps the parts in place! The magnetic surface is great. Stay tuned! |
Toys
Good to see that you have finished the kids toy and have moved on to your own toy now. Your doing great with becoming intimate with your UE gear. Your projects are always a treat and an inspiration for the rest of us. Glad to see your having fun Joe. I look forward to having more money and time to get back to my toys. They are just hanging in the garage collecting dust. Too many family issues to deal with these days, but I will get back to it when I can.

Thanks Jerry! Building these trucks is a lot of fun and the reward is great.
I installed the 46T center spur gear and it fits like a glove in the RC Monster Center Diff Mount. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...pyder8diff.jpg http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...rdiffmount.jpg The trio! haha http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...pyder8trio.jpg Here is what the layout will look like. Motor forward on this build. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/...nderlayout.jpg Starting to look like a truck..... |
Solid gold Emaxx; winning...
