Slipper adjustment is such a fine art...
... I said screw it, locked the slipper up solid (after my 3905 upgrade broke) and built a 6" long wheelie bar to keep the truck on all fours... :mdr: Does handle beautifully that truck, I need to get some of those tyres one day. |
I still love watching your MAXX still looks great...Your modification was the reason I went for a slipper setup but I couldn't fabricate it so I just bought Mike's slipperential :lol:

That is nice! I noticed the bullet connectors soldered onto the batteries themselves. Looks like a good idea.

Managed to squeeze the servo under the prop shaft and turn the linkage upsidown, much neater now.

I can't believe it, really, it boggles the mind. Maxx bling already has a 50 page spread in history, and now, my god, it is even better! That servo mod is sick! I mean twisted! I should expect no less from your work, but wow!

I've never liked the 1 cell ontop of the 8 so I made a new chassis plate so I can lay 9 flat on each side.

lol, i like nimh, picked up a set of 3 nearly new packs GP4300's the other day, 18 cells in total for £30, you cant beat it!
weight is just under 5kg ready to run. |
That is a bargain I must admit- everyone is switching to lipo so they're selling their nimhs for cheap! :lol:
I must say though, that new chassis plate turned out alot nicer than my effort- ever concidered using the extensions on your truck to give it a longer wheel base (extended rear skid and extended rear-upper plate). Would mean a new rear dogbone from Mike or RcAlloys, but it might help tame wheelies and spare the slipper a little (from not having to loosen it as much as you do currently). Just a thought (I have a spare rear-upper plate I dont need if it helps sway your decision).... |
me again! Done a job i've been meaning to do for a while, so this is the center of my truck
http://www.ukmonsters.co.uk/emaxx/171.JPG I have to use a 12 pinion on a 56 spur, even this is a little high with 18 cells now rather than 16. I cant go any lower on the pinion as it rips the teeth off the spur, plus the clutch has been getting anoying, it seems to be affected by temperature, some days it slips some its too tight and flips the truck, so really I want to go to a diff with a thick fluid, like 30k weight or something. Problem is on an 1/8th diff you have limited spur gear choice.
