Bundling AM radios with the RTRs is good for replacement parts sales.

DRIFT_BUGGY 03.24.2008 09:44 PM

Tower Hobbies & most other stores had the Sidewinder ESC on their site for back order about 2 months before it was availiable at stores and yet no-one has even a part number for the new MMM esc. Still might be a while away yet :oh:

entjoles 03.24.2008 10:13 PM

i will still wait, it is just what i need

DRIFT_BUGGY 03.24.2008 10:29 PM

Castle Creations The Monster Max is pretty much complete, just waiting on cases. Right now its pretty much out of our hands, we were supposed to have production samples of the cases a month ago. Unfortunately we still havent seen them.

DRIFT_BUGGY 03.25.2008 12:27 AM

So do you still run the BEC when this ESC?

jnev 03.25.2008 12:41 AM

It has a switching BEC so you will not need an external BEC on any voltage its used at.

Yeah, good luck on that. You want people to actually pay attention to the directions? What are you, insane?!!?!? :intello:

jordan... 03.25.2008 09:03 AM

i think the title of this thread should be changed to 'MMM availability date postponed!!!'

When my controllers come out (Might be 20yrs from now by the way things are going), they won't be just for anybody. I might just keep them all to avoid situations where people might just blame the controller. People should pay attention to directions. Would keep the hobby much safer. With some good FM radios at the price they are going for, I don't know why the RTR kits doesn't include them.

You know you sound like Castle on HV car controllers now

For cars, Castle is still playing with 6S and they have all the technology going for them and the guy that is making my controllers started from scratch. Castle has the capability to make controllers that will keep Schulze and Kontroniks busy trying to catch up.

castle already makes controllers that makes people at sculze start looking for a new job.

Just an update aparently castle owner Patrick on RCZ forum that the mould for the casing got broken and there waiting for it to be repaired apart from that they say the electronics is ready to rock.

I still havent decided what nitro to convert yet so i am not that bothered about the delay perhaps ill put it in a 1/10th for a laugh.

I wouldn't say that just yet. Have you seen the new line of controllers coming out of Schulze? When Castle makes anything for cars like Schulze does, then yes Schulze will have to do a lot of thinking and drop prices to compete.

No doubt. He's made all sorts of promises (12S, etc) and I think all he's got is a puny 3S controller so far. How long ago was that? Months and months if I remember correctly?

You're right, this does sound familiar.

I'm just messin' with ya, Lutach. :na: I know you keep trying to save Castle by offering them electronic parts, but sometimes there's just stuff you can't control.

***for the flamewar impaired***

This has not been a flame, no kittens were harmed in the making of this post. Thank you.

***end non-flamewar alert***

lincpimp 03.26.2008 08:27 AM

I harmed a kitten with a roll of trash bags recently, but it did take a dump on my front door mat.

However the harmed kitty did not have anything to do with this thread.

-end or useless information post-

_paralyzed_ 03.26.2008 08:54 AM

kittens make THE BEST toilet paper, it's just hard to get them to stay on the roll

The toilet paper or the kitten? And if the kitten, is that before or after it was used as toilet paper?

lutach 03.26.2008 10:06 AM

If any of you (Soccer fans) who are planning to go to the 2014 World Cup in Brasil, stay away from the BBQ sold in the streets. Who knows what it is, could be cat or dog . Lets just hope Castle can start building some real ESC for us HV lovers.

TexasSP 03.26.2008 11:29 AM

Mmmm, labrador, the other white meat.

That's probably good advice for street foods in the US too........

BrianG 03.26.2008 12:10 PM

Nothing wrong with cat or dog meat. Meat is meat. It would be a good way to curb all the strays...

I don't think I can eat mens best friend yet, but what I really need is a 12S and a 20S controller for R/C vehicles.

pipeous 03.26.2008 12:35 PM

Better than finding out you battered prawns are actually baby mice ;)

+1 on this, just make sure that you hold the legs, not the back when you wipe. Even the smallest kitted still has claws. It is also best to knock the head over the side of the tub to stun the kitty, that way it is not trying to get away during use.

Kitty does not taste like chicken, it tates like kitty, kinda salty!

lutach 03.26.2008 12:43 PM

You guys are nasty , but I still want Castle to make a vehicle controller that can take 12S and one that can go up to 20S.

JERRY2KONE 03.26.2008 01:09 PM

What?

20s?? Sure, HV is good, but there's gotta be a point where the pack just gets too big to be practical.

TexasSP 03.26.2008 02:17 PM

Like what? Maybe when you need to add a trailer to tow your battery around?

lincpimp 03.26.2008 03:52 PM

A 20s pack made of 1500 or 2000 cells would not be that big, especially if you split it into 2 10s packs. Would be good for a big MT or maybe a larger scale conversion. I personally would be happy with a 12s controller, as a pair of 5s packs looks to be the easiest to package.

My 2 10S A123 weighs as much as my 2 5S 4600mAh TP extreme (long version) packs. Plus you can save more weight and space if you go with the Bosch 36V packs. Here is a picture of the small 36V pack: http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...3&postcount=20. Plus with 20S all you would need is those small 2200mAh cells.

That's what I'll be using them on. I'm hoping to get my 1/8 F1 soon and it will be a 72V machine. My BPP truck already has seen the lights of 10 and 12S.

When you say 1/8 F1 - do you mean a Formula 1 car?

Yes. I'm a huge fan of F1 and the 1/8 F1 car that I looked at will have plenty of space to fit my 2 36V packs. I can also use 2 6S 2200-2500mAh packs if I want to go with a different motor.

Sower 03.27.2008 11:18 AM

Dude, that is freaking awesome! I can never find anyone here in the States that follows F1 and I love it! Do you have a thread started on your 1/8 F1 with any photos? If so, post a link so I can check it out.

Not to highjack the thread (not that it hasn't been done already ) but which team or driver do you pull for? Did you watch the Malaysian GP this last weekend? I didn't go to bed until 3:00 am to watch it!

pun15her 03.27.2008 11:36 AM

I am a huge F1 fan,(but i'm from the UK,so I am allowed!!)
Go Lewis!!

I don't have a thread yet as I'm going to wait until the car actually arrives. I have to go with the Brasilians for sure and I think Massa has a good chance to win the title. I would love to see Piquet Jr. win some races and follow the legacy of his dad. Now to be honest, I follow F1 mainly in the news now as I haven't watched a race after my idol passed (Ayrton Senna). I watched when he crashed and I was in some kind of state of shock and didn't want to believe he actually got hurt. It took me a few days to actually accept that. Anyways (Tears in my eyes), we should hijack this thread until the MMM comes out or we actually have a picture of them or something to calm the folks down.

So you remember the glorious days of Senna doing great battle with some of the great drives from UK. Lewis is doing a fantastic job. I think FIA is doing a horrible job and as you know most of the great teams left F1 because of all the changes. Safety has been great, but everything else just got boring. Man the sound of a 1.3L 1000+HP turbo 4 is unreal.

Sower 03.27.2008 12:16 PM

Very cool guys! Well, I'm a huge Ferrari fan first, and then driver fan. I don't like Alonso. Hamilton is awesome. Kimi is a great talent but I feel he's too lazy. If he applied himself he would be unreal. I also like Massa, Kubica, and Heidfeld.

Too bad more people don't understand how amazing this sport is. The engineering, speed, G-forces, and driver skill levels are unreal. I don't understand how people don't appreciate that more here in the States.

Oh, I loved some of the battles between Mika and Schumi. Awesome

Mister-T 03.27.2008 02:52 PM

F1 is something quite big here in france, probably not as much as in Italy, but we have all F1 Grand Prix live and Free to view on the main French private channel www.tf1.fr

Tamiya did very some nice 1/10 F1 models, and I remember that I have seen 1/4 (larger than a Baja5B and made by "Yankee") and 1/7 scale made by Avioracing
