The baja conversions are getting very close - and I will have one at the RCX show on my Baja. I will get some pictures here first, though. :)

Very nice Mike. I very much look forward to some details about the kit. Does the 2215 still fit and can it be bought as both a full kit and mount only...?

Hey, Mike. I know you were planning to have these for sale before the RCX show. Are they still on track? Will you still have one on display at RCX even if they aren't ready for sale?
I'm actually going to the show this year, so I'm looking forward to seeing the Monster booth!

I am planning to have my Baja at the show - the kits will go into production after the show. I look forward to meeting you at the show. :)

Will you still post pics and reveal some info before the show?

RC-Monster Mike 03.09.2010 02:59 PM

I like the looks of your conversion. Looks very clean.

Looks like you have to run your custom transmission plate? It looks like your plate is the same thickness of stock, have you thought about running it thicker like the Turtle Racing plate?

What speed controller are you using???

RC-Monster Mike 03.16.2010 12:12 AM

The lower plate is thicker than stock - stock is 4mm, mine is 3/16 (4.8mm). I had to mill extra pockets so the plastic skid would fit. The motor plate and chassis brace(opposite motor mount) are .325" thick(8.3mm) and are attached through the bottom of the lower plate, to the top of the rear bulk plate and to the main chassis extrusion - it is quite solid/rigid.

Gonna try a Phoenix HV 110 next. It will ultimately use the Castle HV car version when it is ready(will beta test on this rig). I also have the HV180 boat ESC that works well(ran previously). The motor installed now is a 1527/2.5D and the battery is a 6500mah 35c/65c 7s Hyperion G3 geared with a 12t pinion on the stock spur. It should do alright for now. :)

Thanks, didn't even notice the first time around that you machined a new rear lower chassis plate. Will you have a motor plate with spacing for a 22xx Neu as well as the 15 series?
