Actually, that price isn't that high...Come on guys...The extra $100 for for the skidplates, dogbones, extended, thicker chassis, and updated x-braces isn't that bad...

Well, after looking at the prices and crapping myself, I ordered the new G3.3 suspension. The new motor mount looks rather cool, though I prefer my version to be honest.... The new G3 chassis looks identical to the old one too (thicker though), except for the new rear extension that has been altered a little to allow different esc mounting positions. The site layout is pretty cool, but you can tell they still arent properly ready for re-opening yet since there are no spares available, and the Revo stuff isnt for sale yet. Hmmm.......

EDIT: Squee is quite right though, you do get the skids & dogbones included with the chassis this time, so it saves having to order them separatley.

Well, you do get the extension too, and some new screws, and it is updated (thicker) I suppose, but on the whole it looks near enough the same- you just more/newer parts. I would have liked to have seen a new design, something even more special, rather than something just a bit 'beefed up'. But you know the old saying; if it aint broke, dont fix it!

Squee... You are right. There is more to this update than meets the eye. But i think they are making a mistake by making it an all or nothing deal. The old $198 price tag was alot for most to bite off. It did probably come to $299 by the time you added the extention and the dogbones and the skids, but you had the option of not doing those if you wanted and then adding them later. Now they are forcing folks to drop the whole nut all at once. I think this makes it a much more intimidating upgrade.

The price on that single mount is still stupid high for a siongle plate of aluminum.

the x-braces look the same,and there's no mention of them being stronger.maybe they're slightly thicker? The thicker lower plate would help
them ever so slightly anyway,atleast the lower arms of the x-braces.

the new motor mount and 3.3 suspension look good though.I hope the chassis can bottom out with UE shocks with the new suspension.The new towers look a lot nicer.

A $15 increase in price for the single speed conversion?!? Come on, the only new thing with it is armor plated screws that can be had from hexcrews.com for about $1.50.

Seeing the new prices on this stuff just reinforces the fact I will not even think about building a G3R.

Here are my thoughts. For the extra parts in the package, the extra 100.00 is not much, but what if you don't want or need all that is included? The other thing, the single speed is too pricey IMO, especially with the V1 and V2 out, more for the money there.
The other disappointing factor here is that there are no REAL improvements with the exception of thickness and SLIGHT style change. It would have been nice to see new X-Braces, which would have confirmed the new prices a tad more.

I agree, not worth the wait. The X-Braces badly needed upgrading for us bashers. But, not a single real change. Looks like I will be keeping my FLM chassis.

Yea, that does suck for the people that wouldn't want those parts. Personally, I would'nt want the dogbones. I would just use Revo sliders, but thats just me...Even with the Slipperential, just use the shafts Mike has for using the 3.3 sliders with the 1/8th scale diffs. In all honesty, I'm gonna be really pissed if the G3R is $100 more than it used to be. Especially if there isn't some big changes...

Ugh.. and i was gonna start a maxx project.. I think the new g3r chassis will be 400$+ after looking at some of the prices...

I don't think Mike will charge that if he can help it. But honestly, I don't think it will be. Its not gonna be extended, its not like the added cost of dogbones are a problem, and it already comes with skids, so I dunno. Maybe a few bucks more, but if its $100, my Mod discount will come in handy...
