I took a really fun ride on a flying pink elephant last night and I spotted the MMM in the back of Santa's sleigh.

I am 'participating' in their beta testing program, but i never heard anything from them. I wonder what this beta testing program means. I'm slowly beginning to think it's 100% pure rubbish.

CC didn't have a beta program for the Sidewinder, and I highly doubt us beta testers will be seeing anything of the MMM.

Serum 01.21.2008 05:08 PM

Exactly, 100 percent rubbish. What's the use of a beta testing program if you don't use it?

I applied for the same thing and I even spoke to Joe about it a few months back.

Why is it that on that thread Patrick is really good about giving info out and then he just vanishes? His last post was on Nov. 15th - that's two months without any updates . . . ? Seems like there's a problem to me.

A company like Castle should not have any problems coming out with good ESC. My best guess is that they are trying to make their controllers different from others and stuffing a lot of things that is not needed. One example is the timing, Castles doesn't use the usual degrees like most companies do and that will confuse some people. I know that 2 pole motors works good with 0-5 degrees in timing and I've seen in another forum a guy that used to work for Castle recommend 18.75 degrees with the GT on 2 pole motors. I know from my experience so far if I set my controllers with a higher degree of timing on 2 pole motors, they tend to overheat a bit. I like MGM's Automatic setting .

I wonder if CC uses adjustable timing to a degree and the low, med, or high settings simply adjusts the timing range?

Castle is developing a quality product that they want you to not just purchase, but reley on as being the best their is to offer for performance and price. So I can say that in my years working with castle and using their products I wouldnt be as so impatient but rather it is worth the wait to have something worth having.

I think everyone understands this but that makes it worse for us. We know when it comes out it will be the best but that makes the waiting hard.

I know this sound funny to you all, but instead of listening to he said she said. is it so hard to call Castle and talk to them like I did. You know it isnt too hard to talk to them and believe it or not, They actually answer the phone and talk to you one on one with reading a telepromptor to answer questions.

Some months ago I emailed Castle regarding the beta program and I did get a reply saying that they didn't think they were running a beta for the MMM. Apparently they had enough test vehicles/testers in-house. I was quite bummed.

This is correct, they use variable timing depending on load and rpm.

No it is not, I have talked to them 5 out of the past 10 business days.

They do most of the testing in house, indeed. They have enough vehicles and testers to accomplish this, and it also keeps new products in secrecy. When Shawn left the beta program got revamped, which seems to have basically ended it.

Handy info JRH. Is the MM software revision oming out tonight? Or soon?

johnrobholmes 01.21.2008 09:32 PM

They did complete it, just got off the phone with them. It might go up tonight, but probably tomorrow morning around 10-11 am Central since the webmaster is in Arizona.

It will now be our job to triple check it for any bug we may find so they can fix it asap.
