How they can claim 120A with the same number of FET (and part numbers) as Novak HV-MAXX, maybe with slightly better cooling? Which can barely handle 30A continuously without overheating.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Sure we can make it better, and I think you right, Lutach, for smaller footprint D2pak-7 would be great choice. But I will do that if there would be demand, otherwise I do not need one for myself.<o:p></o:p>

I will mod this one with irf2204 and with better soldering and cooling and we will see how it does.

Keep us posted on how it does. The irf2204 is a nice mosfet for sure. Did you make your board work with the MM brain? I have an idea of a new ESC. It will use 120 MOSFETs total (40 per phase) and the power boards will have a small foot print, the only problem that I'm having is putting the idea into a drawing to show you how it should look. I have the Eagle program, but I have no clue how to use it :lol:.

Haven't had a time, yet, for complete solution. And I am happy with last gen. power boards anyways, and as for high voltage MM ESC need to be studied a little bit more. While you in process of delivering high voltage version anyways, right? :)<o:p></o:p>
120 is allot, and you meant 20 per phase, H-bridge requires 2 fet's per phase. Just make sure that pcb traces can handle this...<o:p></o:p>
As for Eagle you can start from tutorial, or from examples. But at the beginners level I would recommend ExpressPCB, very simple.<o:p></o:p>
Also you can just make it in paint shop and I can do the rest or somebody else...<o:p></o:p>
Meaning we can start layout/project and you can finish/learn.<o:p></o:p>

hey Artur, have you started formulating a guess as to how much (if at all) we may be able to push the upcoming MMM? I'm just guessing that the fets used to get 25volt ability will have some overhead...

The guys that is doing my controllers told me they would be done this month, but I will only believe him when they are here. The controller I have in mind will use a total of 120 MOSFETs, so it will be total 40 per power board 20 FETs on each side. You are right on this one 20 per phase. The FETs that I'm basing this controller on comes in 30V and 60V, so a HV version can be made. I'll try to cook up a very detailed drawing to see if it'll make sense. To me it does, but to someone else it might not. I also have a crazy idea for the traces to handle all the power, but I'm not 100% sure it can be done. I'll find a way to get a drawing and best explanation out to you as soon as I can.

Let's see what it can do in stock version and then chop fan off and add 25% :)

I hate to say, but connectors on ESC are bad idea, remember MGM..., maybe that was only on pre-production units?
For given moment why not to mold all three wires together, like a ribbon cable, you can even twist it and make it more compact...Lets patent that:diablo:

I think Patrick of CC said the esc-only model of the MMM will come with 10guage wires hard-wired to the PCB, with bullets on the ends to the motor. I prefer the sound of that really to the bullet connectors on the PCB...

Too bad they can't keep their word. Do you know how when they took the picture of the one with the yellow shrink wrap on it? After I sent them the MOSFETs to make my 200A controller and before that they only had the one showing the components. Plus they should take the 200A out of there as they only have crappy sample boards and they can't handle the AMPs. Funny how Suppo made it seem they were the first to come out with a 200A 15S controller. They said they can't even sell 200 units, I wonder why. I told him I can get enough MOSFETs to make 1000 units, but I didn't get an answer yet. All he said he'll do is the 100A, 80A and 60A for me and not the 200A. Ahh that's not a bad looking ESC in stock form. I was thinking about trying one on my basher. It does have a car brake yes?? Also will it handle 4 pole motors?

Yes it does have brakes. My 5yr old was using it with a 8T feigao and was clocked at 37mph doing his speedruns with the frankenrusto. I put back his 12T little hacker as the esc runs way cooler. The ESC has a delay between a stop to going again.
