Have to agree with BL RVO those motors cant run on 4s and 3s if your lucky. They are also hard on the ESC.I have experienced 1st hand how the less expensive motors can cause the MMMs to run hot even on 3s.I compared mine to my Neu 1515/1.5 on 3s.Nice conversion though.

Hmm, i have to disagree. :) Well maybe its because of the fan + extra heatsink, but the motor was 50-60C after driving. And I was driving inside, so the environment temperature was 20C+.

My pinion is 13t and spur 45t or 46t, so its not that heavy i think. I put low timing on ESC and low start power to keep the temps as they are now.

When I ran the motor outside, around 0C, the motor didnt go much over 20C :)

But yeah, compared to more expensive motors, these get much hotter I guess.

EDIT: The quality of these china motors also vary alot. Last 2800kv XL short circuited because some axle balancing epoxy kind of substance came off of the axle/magnet and went between magnet and coil. So some motors might also get hotter than others.

Time for an update

Hey guys I have gotten alot of stuff done over the past week.
I realized how heavy the rear of my truck was, and wanted to lighten it up in preparation for racing... so I started to take parts off and weigh them.. come to find out that the motor mount that came with the truck was heavy as hell! ~245g. Its made out of some mystery metal, its really heavy, really stiff and not magnetic.

So last night i got to work on a peice of 2x2 aluminum. Its mounted to the chassis with 2 countersunk m4 screws. about an hour later with the aid of a drill press and a dremel this is what I came up with. 44g! dropped 200g on the mount alone!

Secondly I got a spektrum sr3000 from a friend, and bough a module for my M8. got the module installed and modded the case so the antenna fit's in the stock location- it looks pretty trick

I wonder if it is stainless steel? It is not magnetic.
