|
Looking good so far
|
admit it!
the little girl is who's building the truck, not you:lol: |
Shiny
Good choice for the parts ! I have a similar setup (http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24653) and it's really durable and sturdy ! What did you plan to secure the lipo packs ? I tested multi-strap method....really ineffective... I really advise you to use boxes (RCM custom trays or Novak boxes : http://www.shopatron.com/products/pr...5050/135.0.1.1, cheaper). Good job so far, can't wait the final result ! And don't forget to dremel the front upper arms (or the chassis) because they rub against the chassis. |
what will the arms rub the chassi?bad...
i have gorillamaxxstraps, i think it works out fine. and if thats not enough i will use the flm straps with the GM straps. and popoxx, i have seen you beautiful truck befor, in many places. |
:mdr:
My GM straps lasted about one hour that's why I prefer warning you  Don't put the straps around the sharp edges of the trays for example... Or add foam. And yes that's suck but as the RPM arms are bigger than the stock ones, they rub against the chassis. I dremeled it, not a big job don't worry. |
i have HB lightning diffs, is it possible to use a center diff in my car?do i use a slippering center diff or how do i do it?what do i need? where can i read about this?
please... |
It is possible.
You dont need/ have to have one. You can use the stock centre diff option traxxas cell for the erevo/3905 transmission, or you can get Mr.Crash to make you one that uses a proper 1/8 scale diff as the basis. The centre diff is usefull if you want to race, or if you have trouble with too much power/ wheelies, in which case you can tune the CD to unload some of the power to the front wheels, meaning fewer wheelies and more time spent the correct way up. traxxas CD 1/8 scale CD The traxxas option is an easy drop-in unit, but it is difficult to tune well. The 1/8 route is much better, but requires you to either build your own by following the various guides in that 2nd thread above, or Mr.Crash can build you one if you dont feel confident about it. For general bashing though, I find I can live without a CD, I just use a very long wheelie bar instead... |
my car is almost finished and i am thinking of next project...
i will have CC 2200kv motor and 5s so it will make wheelies, i should solve the problem with a CD. but if i use a CD i will lose my slipper, dont i need any one? is this a choice?http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...rential&cat=41 i saw this one:http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...t=19600&page=3 and its beautiful, is it mikes work?anybody? i am looking for something like that.i dont like wheelie bars... |
That is one of Mike's center diff units yeah, but we've all been waiting a long time for him to start selling them properly in the RCM shop; at present its a custom order thing only. The other CDs fit inside the transmission, and that way you can fine tune the gearing but more accurately with the spur and pinion. Just stick some ~500k fluid in the CD and that should be a good start for the traxxas version.
You wont use your slipper with the internal CD, but with Mike's unit I believe you can use his slipperential to help tame wheelies too: http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...Mslipperential |
But he will make one for me if order it? Its no funny to use traxxad stuff i would like something custom made...
|
If you can get hold of him, he should be able to make you one, but be advised it may take a while and isnt all that cheap: clicky
