I'll be waiting for the 70mm as well. It will fit right in my MBX5T.

I just received a email letting me know the 036-050-2200V2-5 is backordered and won't ship for 3 weeks. Looks like my buggy won't get it's first run for a while longer now.

The 70mm version might be a good option for my Savage X when it becomes available. The 8XL I'm running now doesn't feel strong enough compared to the same motor in my truggy.

Yeah, that is true. 60mm would probably be pretty good in a buggy, although I know they like torque too.

Hell, everything likes torque! :yipi:

Looking forward to getting one of these 60mm Medusas. the Neu 2.5D 1512 in my Emaxx ran great, loads of power. The Mamba Monster is one heck of an ESC if it stays together. So far so good. Only let down was the stock traxxas servos, not how they worked mind you, the fact that I popped the stock gears.

Anyway, the 2.5D/F motor I ran with the fins didn't let me get as good of a gearing range as I wanted. Motor ran up to 180F but electronics cool. was however never opening it up, maybe ran half throttle the whole time and no venting. I am thinking the Medusa should be a great choice here for its no fins to give me better gearing range. And leave the Neu for my RC8.

Thoughts?

I had another great saturday race night with my Medusa powered 8ight. I love this little motor. After a 30 minute main the motor was about 140F. @ this point I plan to get a 2nd one for my backup car :mdr: I got the version with the bonded heat sink and hit it with my belt sander in the area by the center diff..

well after reading all this and seeing that the 36-60-2000v2 and 1600v2 are available now ...i'm going to order one for my emaxx, mm,bec, 2s2p 8000mah

which one should I get?...I saw no definitive answer here

I'm guessing the 2000v2? and will it perform well on 6s also?

Cain 06.10.2008 12:21 PM

Not sure where you seeing the 2000kv V2 is available now (showing backordered).

I would say on 4S setup, I would go with the 2000Kv V2. That is what I am looking at.

well it was listed in stock at impakt so I ordered it and now they are out of stock...but I see the 36-60-1600v2 is still in stock

suicideneil 06.10.2008 01:16 PM

1600 should be great for 6s, to give same topspeed as the 2000 on 4s. 2000 on 6s will be rather fun to see...

bustitup 06.10.2008 01:43 PM

my thoughts also........I called impakt just make sure my order was accualy in stock.....he told me I got the last 36-60-2000 and that it would ship today.......its going in my 3906 with mm and bec.......I asked what gearing he recommended on 4's....he said stock 18/68 should produce a fast cool truck

I just put the 60mm 1500 kv motor in my maxx and did some preliminary tests inside. This thing has a ton of torque. I was running a 600xl on 6s and wanted to try the medusa. I will try to do a little driving outside tonight but if not tomorrow.

I thought that the medusa was much better than the align motor. Really woke up my hyper8, but it did smoke the quark 65! Not sure if it was the motor's fault though.

Cain 06.10.2008 11:07 PM

Contacted Medusa and my order should be shipping in two weeks.

Yeah, a far cry better. I think I can gear the medusa up a little more than the align. My maxx is 10lbs rtr so I think the medusa will fair well. If the temps stay good on this I will be buying more from medusa.

Linc does your 600xl spin fairly freely by hand? The magnets in the medusa feel so much stronger than the align.
