Nice Simon!!
How does it handle compared to the d8? |
It handles sharper than the D8, which is more stable, but I was running the D8 far heavier than the 9E, so it wasn't really going to compare, and it wasn't a fair test.

Received mine today and have ben busy with Shocks, diffs and some set up per Nitro House. I have 2 LST2's so I'm really liking these big deisel shocks !
I'm at a point in my build where I'm deciding weither to get rid of the TX box and mount the ESC on the chassis or Go with the layouts original intent ? I like the cleaner look of the ESC down low and CG is a bonus but the installed RX box and plate definitely simplify ? Undecided ?? Also considering 3s power, Have a 8000mah 3s 20C 160Amp pack that might be a candidate ?? |
I had a couple of issues with my 9e which prevented me from running it regularly. The first problem was that the pinion kept slipping off. I didn't use the oem pinion with 2 grub screw holes but a regular one with 1 hole to hold the grub screw only. As the pinion warmed up, it would start to slip out due to the orientation of the motor. Blue Loctite did not help at all. However, my lhs suggested for me to coat the shaft with some green loctite. This did the trick.
Second problem was that the end bell of my Medusa popped off. Instead of sending the motor back, I decided to use from epoxy to glue the thing back together. This seemed to hold for now. Anyway, with the 2 problems resolved. Ran a race over the weekend. Nice handling & super fast & nimble. Qualified 5th or 6th out of about 19 racers. I chose not run the main as it was a 1 hr race. Instead I ran my nitro which qualified 1 place below my electric. I'm the solo electric in my neck of the woods. Finished 4th overall in the end. A 1hr final? At a club race? Blimey, you get more for your money!

Joeling,
I had already seen your buggy on another Forum while I was researching info, Nice ! Hour main, Brutal ? |
Sorry a little OT here. I get to race only about 3 to 4 times a year at my place on the island of Borneo. So, when a race comes around, I make sure I take full advantage. I ran 3 cars for this race. 2 buggys & a truggy. My lhs is very accommodating as I'm the only EP guy around for the last few years. Things are changing though.
