As with everything in life, they had to make a trade-off. The chassis is now slightly thicker = slightly stronger, and only a little bit heavier than before. It will still handle better than any stock type chassis due to the lowered CoG. I would have thought making the chassis from 7075 alloy would have been the best bet- much stronger but same weight as before, although a bit more expensive..... whatever.

They made the chassis plate thicker for little stronger. The problem i see
is they didn't fix the x braces where they bend. That is my complaint. |
Sorry suicideneil, the Racebombs are no more, and hard to find. I should have one with the 7075 top plate (#5 of 10 made) in the mail pretty soon though. :D

Typical squee, nicking the last one.... As for the x-brace issue, yeah, it is quite annoying that they didnt adress the bending issue. The obvious problem is that the motor mounting screws go up through the x-brace so they cant put a bar across that area to stiffen it up. The only solution I can think of are some kind of braces that run along parallel to the x-braces, either on the inside or outside if you see what I mean, along the whole length of the chassis, and are bolted down onto the battery plate. That way they wouldnt be in the way of anything, and would add much needed stiffness.....

I heard with the g2r there was a problem with the shock mounts or something similar how did this affect the truck ?. If this is true has it been fixed with the g3r ?.
|
Yup. Its fixed on the G3R.

So that means the new chassis has the same FR kick up & RR antisquat as the stock chassis ?. |
I'm not exactly sure on that. I would imagine it does, but you might want to contact George.
