Looks like a bargain to me, most racers probably paid a premium for all those extra hop-ups anyway. I don't see why Traxxas would make a e-revo platinum when racing is nitro-only..
|
Just looks like a "Factory team" build to me with stuff that should come on there anyway. I guess since this is primarily for racing it makes sense I suppose.
And about the E-Revo idea; you KNOW that whatever Traxxas puts on there won't be good/powerful/fast enough and will be upgraded ASAP anyway. Really though; what makes a Revo is the suspension when you boil it down. Everything else is kinda typical. Soooo, just use any reliable truggy platform (with "real" F/R/C diffs) and set up the rocker suspension on it. Voila! |
I REALLY like that...The bumpers, red rods for the swaybars, different color chassis, and hexes look badass...

How about an e-revo roller, or kit?
That way you could buy it with all of the necessary motor, battery, and esc mounts. Plus it could have some sort of center diff capable tranny, and maybe a 2speed that would still allow motor brakes and reverse. I would prefer the kit, as I like to build stuff, but the roller would also be cool. That way any motor/esc combo could be used. Traxxas could even use a plastic center chassis with the trays, etc molded in. Sounds good to me. While they are at it, they could offer the emaxx as a roller too. Knock of 150 bucks for the radio gear and brushed motor/esc. Those would sell too. |
I don't think I've ever seen Traxxas offer anything but RTRs, so I think it unlikely that they would offer a kit or roller anytime soon. BL can be complicated, especially for people new to electric, and it would just open them up to sooo many support questions. If they did release a BL setup, I can see it only being a RTR...

I never really considered a Revo (for an electric conversion) till now...this thing looks all done up. Every racer at my track who runs a Revo has to dump tons of time & money into the truck to make it raceable - this looks like it has all those goodies...The only thing I'd like to know is can you rip out the over complex gearbox and replace it with a simple Diff like you have on a 1/8th truggy?

I wouldnt meet the MT class rules if it had a 1/8 center diff. The 2 speed tranny is a must for the class IMO. If you want a MT with a center diff, just get a truggy.

the gmaxx elec. conversion will still work on this one right?
