What's going on with Ebay links?!?! Neither of those are working... The diffs that work with the plastic spur are from the MBX, LX, and Ultra series. The ones from any hyper 7 or 9.5 buggy won't work.

Hpefully that 2nd link is the one then as its labelled "NEW OFNA ULTRA COMP LX CENTER DIFF" ... it has no spur included, but the spur mount has four mounting holes, it's not a spur that bolts directly to the diffcase..... from what i've read i think that makes it the right one ?

Hi,

I have just done a similar bracket to fit the motor pinion underneath the spur gear. Please refer to attached dwg.

Hi,

last pic. I have purchase the conversion kit. Take note that with the kit, the battery will interfere with the brake activation link (little 5mm shaft that goes into the side of the gearbox) if placed within the provided battery holder. I am having that issue & in the process of working out to lower the battery holders to work round this
'problem' so that I can revert to 2 speed with brakes.

Joe Ling

You are not able to change the possition of the motor?

joeling 08.29.2005 10:08 AM

Dear Serum,

I am just trying to lower the cg of the truck (as per your thoughts in an earlier post). The stock plate has the motor too high up for my liking.

Joe Ling

Yeah, i understand your point of view, i too think it is way too high.. I was just asking, because it takes some precise measurement on a 'locked' motor to get the mesh right.

But i didn't see the other pics of the mount, showing it is able to move the motor.

So, my question is answered, and i too think a lower CG is better..

Joeling, that plate you made looks pretty good. How come you purchased the conversion kit?

Is anyone able to make a custom mount like that? Just wondering since I'm not really wanting to spend $170 on a conversion kit. I would like to keep the stock 2 speed and probably could make battery holders myself but do not have the skills nor equipment to make a mount. :(

Im with you superfreak. I dont really feel like spending $170 to make my savage BL. I PM'ed joeling and he said the motor mount hasn't been tested yet. But he said it should work. MAybe someone here can show the diagram of their motor mounts. That will help alot..

Serum 09.03.2005 08:30 AM

Build it yourself!!!

You'll enjoy it..

All you need are;

-handdrill, with a few drills
-rasps
-patience
-maybe a handjigsaw

Yea i can feel that is going to be fun building them my self. But i dont really know how to accurately measure for the motor mount. Is there anyone here that have a motor mount diagram?

coolhandcountry 09.03.2005 12:48 PM

I thought it was one earlier in the thread. I may be wrong. It may not be what you looking for either.

Same here. My accuracy would be the only problem. And when your bolting a BL motor directly to the spur gear you want to have it all perfect.
