Yeah, well.. throwing 19 instead of 18 cells on your maxx makes a larger difference, and your cells will thank you for that! ;)

If they only grew on trees...

What is meant buy deep discharging and dead-short? I dont have a discharger so I run them until the maxx is sluggish, or almost until it wont on its own but it will still go.

I got GP3300's and I love them, although I havent tried the IB3800's or GP3700's. If either is better than the GP3300's i would be extremely happy

Your practice of running the cells until they only slowly move the truck won't hurt the batteries. Just let them cool before you recharge them (all nimh) for longest life. Both the 3700 and 3800 cells will perform slightly better than the 3300s, for a little longer.

A g-maxx related question Mike;

those 3700's are no perfect fit. How about the 3800's? are those the exact same diameter compared to the 3300's?

RC-Monster Mike 09.01.2005 08:24 AM

The 3800s are ever so slightly larger than the 300s, but seem to fit perfectly in my g-maxx chassis. The size difference is miniscule.

Okay, they are a better fit than the 3700's?

coolhandcountry 09.01.2005 03:53 PM

I have question as well. What about the weight? I know the 3300 is lighter than the 3700. What about the 3800 ibc?

nitrostarter 09.01.2005 08:58 PM

You have the 3800's for sale? I need to get another set of batts. How much would I be looking at for a set of 3800's 14 cells with Deans?

RC-Monster Mike 09.01.2005 09:03 PM

The base matched sets are around $55 for a built 7 cell pack with the Dean's connector. The top of the line cells are a bit more.

Okay, they are a better fit than the 3700's?

RC-Monster Mike 09.02.2005 10:07 AM

I measured the 3300s, 3700s and 3800s diameter. The 3800 is .25mm larger than the 3300s, and the 3700s are about the same(within .02mm).

Okay, good info.

do they work on a gmaxx chassis with the CF battery holder?

RC-Monster Mike 09.02.2005 03:39 PM

give me a minute!

RC-Monster Mike 09.02.2005 03:47 PM

Tight fit! The CF straps work, but ideally the upper cf piece would need a slight trim(tight against a 3700 cell). I put 6 gp3700 cells in the truck and got the strap tightened down, with some effort. A small spacer on the fixed end(side without the thumb screw) to raise the strap and a slight trim of the upper cf strap would allow them to work perfectly.

Okay... THanks a bunch! i might order a few sets of those Ib's then!
