I have a jr ds8611a in my revo, 320 oz and I find it pleasant overkill.

The Hitec servos are the one thing I can get locally for a reasonable price. I use 2 5955tg and love them but the 7955tg has replaced the 5955tg now.

So sometimes they give dummies way too many options! When ordering HiTech 7955 or 5955 you can get it with either 90deg rotation, or 180. I assume that 90 is "normal" for our application, right?

Yep, 90 degree is normal.

I ran the Airtronics 94358 in my REVO with single steering setup. 200OZ torque @ 6v. Great servo, that was 3 years ago and I still am running that servo in my buggy

For big tire apps: JR DS8711--403 oz in, .15 sec @ 6v
For LPR setups: JR DS8717--196 oz in, .06 sec @ 6v

Yes, the DS711 is an air servo, but it works and it works well
Yes, the DS8717 is a cyclic servo, but fast and nearly 200 oz.

I love JR's stuff, and their guarantee. They have never let me down. Don't curse me out, but I am a Nitro guy. Just totally love all the great RC Monster parts. I originally bought the DS8717 as a throttle servo, but it will be the throttle and steering servo on my next ride.

That second servo (DS8717) is a crazy fast servo from the specs. That would make a good buggy steering servo.

It is wicked fast. With the Slayden steering mods, it really whips the steering from stop to stop and has a GREAT turning radius. I never even thought about it as a steering servo until I put them in the truck the wrong way! I had a 403 oz throttle servo and a .06 sec steering servo! Long story short, when I realized what I'd done, and flipped the servos, I really wished that I still had the DS8717 as the steering servo. Next build will be 8717's on the throttle/brakes AND the steering. Plus, its a MG servo, so you can run the extra stiff servo saver spring.

My GTP is brushess, and I have a steering servo to match! :mdr:

It gives 208 oz./in. and 0.12 sec. at 6V. I've noticed, also, that it doesn't buzz as much as digital servos usually do. Which I find very annoying.

I am going to try running a lipo rx pack without a regulator next. I have a 359 and have heard success stories going direct. That'll make it a really fast torquey servo. I had to steal the bec for my crawler and have a couple small 2s lipos so why not? Ifthe servo fries, I'll go get a Hitec then I know it'll be safe hehe
