i havent had time to go get any of the cables

possibly tonight ill go

ima look for something like this

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=3756908

hopefully thats what i need...

i went through my tv options and there are the normal hdmi component tv av and so forth options but they also have a "pc" option so i looked on the back of my tv and it had pc next to a vga cable.

im guessing this is what i need.

so i figure that will work.

also on the back of my comp it has a vga along with dmi sooooo i think thats what i need.

let you know tonight!

Arct1k 04.23.2008 09:10 PM

Arct1k 04.23.2008 09:21 PM

heading away for w/e so won't be able to do anything until next week but this should be cheap as chips...

t-maxxracer32 05.01.2008 01:42 PM

so I moved my tv away from my comp and its like 20 ft away so is there a way I can cut the vga cable and extend it with wires?

I've done with with usb cords and I've done it with extension cords so I know how to do it but I've never even opened up the vga cable
id be extending it about 15 feet since they only sell 6ft at walmart
there only 15 bucks

thanks for any help!

Arct1k 05.01.2008 02:23 PM

You'd need better cables to avoid loss / interference - See this http://www.scala.com/hardware/dvi-vga-cable.html

This company seems to sell cables that support longer lengths - see this http://www.networktechinc.com/cable-pc.html

t-maxxracer32 05.01.2008 02:57 PM

sweet arct Ithink thats exactly what I need
25 feet is only like 40 dollars

thanks a lot!

JThiessen 05.01.2008 05:08 PM

I've purchased longer ones at RadioShack before also. BestBuy and CircuitCity may also carry longer ones.

Before you order, also check http://www.monoprice.com. They have been by far the lowest price on other cables I've purchased. Quick shipping too.

t-maxxracer32 05.01.2008 05:19 PM

problem with best buy/circuit city is the price generally.

t-maxxracer32 05.01.2008 05:27 PM

just looked at that place JT and daaaaamn thats cheap!!

i will be placing an order tonight for sure.

everything look quality?

JThiessen 05.02.2008 11:05 AM

I started buying from them when I was setting up my home theater and needed HDMI cables. Local stores were selling them for 80 to 100 each, and I go them from Monoprice for 6 bucks each. And yes, they are quality cables.

t-maxxracer32 05.02.2008 12:24 PM

im guilty for that... 100 on a monster cable at best buy
its good to hear they are quality I will be ordering them today
