Even basic datalogging would be incredibly useful...max/min voltage and max motor RPM from a run (if there's not enough memory to store a a run's worth of data at 1hz, or whatever it may be). Current logging even if not very accurate, could still be useful for checking the ballpark figures. If it was only accurate to within 10A, even that would be helpful for checking out maximum rough current draw with a motor...but if the hardware isn't up to that, then it's no big deal.

Simpler things like hard RPM-limiting would be great, or even some kind of rudimentary traction control that goes beyond the current Punch Control; I don't know how or if it could work, but perhaps it'd be possible to be able to set a *minimum* voltage level (voltage drop) which the Mamba won't go below during the run, and limits acceleration so as to stay above that voltage. I'm not sure how you'd get the controller to distinguish between that and the LiPo cutoff voltage though, and it might not work well at all...but it wouldn't require current measurement. Just voltage measurement, which is a function of current draw.

Now that I think of it, it's a terrible idea lol...but there sure is a lot of stuff that could be done with the software.

Still need a good current limiter/control. Monster would be an awesome controller for E-bike

Mamba Monster Bike, wheelie on demand :D

How about "datalogging" that would just show min, max, and average voltages and currents vs time? There has to be enough memory for 6 total data points.

Current isn't even within 10A on the Mamba or Monster hardware -- I basically have two bits of current data.

The Phoenix-ICE series will have an integrated high precision current monitor, and will have hardware support for reversing modes -- so will work OK in a car.

patrick, how are you measuring current, especially with such a large range? I can't imagine you are using a shunt to detect small v drops, and a current sample coil would be too large I would think...

On the Phoenix-ICE we are using a 250 micro ohm (.00025 ohm) precision (1%) shunt.

Something like: max amps, amps at full throttle, min voltage, max rpm and max temp would be nice (same as MGM has). And the amp readings on the MGM is way off, just use it as a comparison for different set ups.
