OMG Justin, these are some of the best lookin' pede/rustlers that I have ever seen in the net!
I like this FLM chassis, but your CF is pure sweetness!

Where did you get that CF plates from? and yeah pede's! thats the best looking pede's i've seen too!!
Those rear knuckles, what brand are those? I'm interested in the speed? and what basic did you use? the 4200? looks like a REALLY small motor with those wide arms on..

lehner 5300 on 7cells is darn fast; i cant imagine what the Nemisis 12s on 12cells is going to be like - i dont think that 60mph will be too out of my reach.

I've got an SS5800 as well and just broke my first slider at the connection to the stub axle (the connection at the wheel end, not the tranny yoke).

Iv'e got and 8s on the way and was hedging my bet on trying to get a set of cvd's that would fit. Plus I like the look of the cvd's better than the stock sliders since I've invested in the FLM aluminum.

what most people are talking about i think is twisting the slider driveshafts, but i too have broken the connection to the stub axle twice with my lehner 5300 stampede.

the reason i do not use the CVD's is because they limit suspension travel.

the lehner basic 4200/5300 motors look really small, but they pack quite a punch. check out Candyman's website, he has a bunch of good videos with lehner motors. i think he used 2x lehner 4200's in a juggernaut 2, and it scooted along quickly.

Thanks for that link Justin! How do you machine the CF? routing at 20000 rpm+? or with a jigsaw? i wanted to use cf for my next project as well.

Perhaps a mill with some water comes in handy with this material.. (or a dust mask.. :p )

At those high speeds, do you need the travel that bad?

i use a scroll saw, and lots of blades.

you would be surprised at the suspension travel used when driving very fast over rough terrain :D it is definately noticeable.
