That's def different!

May be stronger than reg door too - just depends on how they designed it. Seems like an accident that crumpled the door could leave you trapped though. Sure they've thought of that too, so they must have some reponse about potential accidents. I'd hate to have to use one of these doors in one of our TX Turdfloater T'storms though - sure is a big hole.

DISAPPEARING CAR DOOR - For those those who are too lazy to open a regular door.

Also the supporting brace that runs from the roll cage down to the lower chassis section is removed, which decreases structural integrity under a side impact crash, unless, the door is made out of a material in which that is so strong it can stand up to that abuse, although then it will be so cost defective it will become absolete.

Bah, whats wrong with gull-wing doors like on the delorean or lambos?

You beat me to it. I dont understnad why more companies dont use this design. Lambo really outdid itself with it.

yeah then your battery dies!

You would notice many other things wrong with your vehicle (electrically) way before the battery was so dead it wouldn't operate the doors.

Not always, havnt you ever woke up to go to work and have a dead battery due to a bad battery or OE like leaving the dome light on.

Believe it or not, I haven't! :mdr: If they were smart they would allow for manual operation of the doors, just because of the probability that your battery could die and lock you in/out of your vehicle.

Climb in through the trunk...

I doubt even my car allows for fully manual operation as the window has to drop down in order to the door to open...
