And for the gasoline boat, you're right, i've an HPI baja SS with a Zenoha 25.4 race ported, and i simply put gas on it, pull the cord twice and i've fun for an hour:yipi: |
GOOD TIMES!!......(the definition of INSANITY):doing the same things over and over and expecting differant results???????(MMM)
|
Anyways, i'am sure that CC will make another version (V3) with all the tips and trics that lot of guys here (like BrianG) give on the forum.
So if CC take all the idea give here, i'am sure that the MMM will finish to be reliable in a neer future. The MM is reliable, so why the MMM can't. |

I understand your frustration..if the new MMM isn"t succesful don't feel like you have to sell your BL gear but take a break from it for a while and run your Baja...and once things have stabilized go back to it...I have actually let an RC sit for a year or 2 before wanting to deal with it again |

As you say, i'll take a LLLLLOOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG brushless brake. And if a good day we have the chance to have a solid controller, i'll re-take a chance to spend my money on no-were, and hope that this time will be the good one. maybe i'll modify my son Stampede and run it with my thrusty MM. |
I've been using a $60 ESC with 6s Lipos no problems at all. Its just that it doesn't have proportional brakes (air/boat esc). If my MMM turns out to be no good I'll go back to that and just wait until something proven comes along, if thats the MMM V3 then great,
but no more preordering for me. And when people say its too cheap at $160, well its not if it doesn't work properly is it? Heck, I was happy running a single velineon in my E-maxx on 3s anyway. I do feel bad for Castle though, I'm sure it sucks for them and they would want nothing but for everyone to be happy with their MMM's. |
Can you tell me what's your $60.00 controller who can supporte 6s??
If he can take over 200amps, i'll buy one for my e-revo:wink: |
sorry its a 100A controller from hobbycity. 200A @ 22V = broken drivetrain surely :oh:
There is a 12S version too. |
I'm a bit skeptical of these no-name ESC current claims. Sure, the FET could technically be rated at 200A, but that's probably best case scenario with optimum temps (no temperature derating figured in), with 200mph airflow. Not to mention; can the PCB circuit traces support those kinds of currents? Also, air ESCs hardly ever have the burst headroom that a car ESC does.
|
At least his no-name ESC is working.
|
Well they are 100A rated, not 200A and yes they don't have the burst capabilty. But they are huge and work very well to their ratings and I believe those ones may be the very same ESC's that Hacker supply.
Unfortunately they are only of limited use in car applications so I only recommend if you know what you're doing. |

if you want brakes you will need to run mechanical brakes and you will have no reverse with an air ESC, I have one for my latest project...and if you use a pistol Tx you will need a Pistix adapter here are a few links to what I have Hv110 esc http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLBY5&P=7 Pistix adapter http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...oducts_id=2302 Metalman had a previous post where he ran an HV110 in a BL Savage had got very good results |

Yes thats the one I have, the 6S version (didn't really want to post direct link here).
Pistix is not needed, it will calibrate with a pistol controller. |
