Twin VXL is the better choice. I run the V-Twin but it is uncontrollably fast. It would perform better on the track on 2s packs. The 10L isn't a great choice, but neither is the Velineon. The 10L won't get 40mph on 3s. The 10L likely won't get 40mph period in an E-Maxx. I would need video GPS proof to believe it. Here is my V-Twin on 3s LiPos.

The VXL is made by Feigao so I would imagine effeciency's would be comparible.
It comes down to choices of longer rotor with more torque or two motors - I think you'd both agree they would be better off ($'s and performance) with one good setup. I'd go for 4s and a Medusa 60mm 2000. |
if your truck has quick acceleration 30mph would not be terrible for racing i would not think.
of course 30mph is not an ideal speed... but neither is 3s in a maxx. shed as much weight as possible, gear it for more torque, and practice your driving. i think that would be easier then trying to get 5-10 more mph |

I ran a single VXL in 2wd when I broke the front diff. It was miserably hard to control. Its fun to power slide but terrible to try and drive. http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h...h_HPIM0107.jpg |
i just ran my emaxx on 24/66 with a 10l on 3s the speed was increased alot from my old setup 20/68, i only ran it for 12 minutes but i dont have a temp gun , i could put my finger on the motor for about 5 - 6 seconds then it gets too hot, does that mean that the motor is way too hot and i should gear it down or is it good ?

It means get a temp gun. You have to know what your temps are, especially with brushless motors and LiPos.
