if you are having problems locating a Pistix you could use a HV Hydra ESC they are compatable with a pistol radio.....and as long as you don"t race you will be fine with a HV110 due to the soft start feature...mine works great in my Revo since I don't go WOT from a stop I get some momentum going before I gun it
|
Ive got a pistix on the way so I'm good now. I already have the HV110 so I'll stick with that for now.
The Hydra are expensive man. They have some nice specs. WHy cant anyone make a car controller with those kind of numbers. I'm aleays hearing people argue that high voltage is dangerous, but the boats and planes both use HV so WTF. |
Whats the soft start feature. Its only going in the basher savage so an instant start isnt needed, but how much does it effect it?
|
Okay, with brake and throttle EPA set to 100% on channel 2 and the trim all the way negative, the HV-110 armed right away. The amount of trigger throw before power is applied to the motor is perfect, and I can actually set this using the sub-trim.
This means I have two PiStix adapters and no real need for them... |
Metalman I'll take one of those PiStix off your hands if you pm me a price and your paypal.

from what I have seen is that most of the RC boaters prefer a lower voltage/higher kv seups...I think it is due to the fact that most of them like to race and that is what they are limited to in thier classes. I am planning on building a 33" Delta Force with a 1521 1.5y w/8s and I feel like a rebel.....LOL...its a good thing they have water cooling jackets for the motors |
In addition to what Thomas said above, our HV-ESCS are for 6 to 12s ESCS. If you are planning on using 6s or less and want to use an aircraft ESC our Phoenix 125 will do the same thing at a much more reasonable price. It will also be out of warranty in a car but if that is not an issue, go for it. It will also need a pistix. If you are going to run 12s you will need a motor with less than 1200 Kv.

Thanks Bernie. I am going to try it on 10s and a Lehner 1950/12 (1045kv) motor and also try it with 5s and a Neu 1521/1Y (1577kv) motor.
