Well, I was playing around a lot and didn't find better way.
Also I was trying to keep everything on metal and as close to the center as possible. And be able to remove them quickly and be able to use cell equalizer as well.
So overall rear end is pretty balanced, front has 0.2lbs offset to the left. Total weight 8.2lbs. As for COG, I think it is not as good as with motor, but should be Ok, due to the fact that batteries mounted closer to the center.

-13t pinion was too hot for the ESC
-12t was good for short tracks, but not enough traction

I am interested in your sensored 6XL and the upgrading (in terms of power) of the novak speedo.

What made it possible to use the 46T spur? i see you are using an aluminum diffcup with that spur. What upgrades did you need to make it work?

It is torsen differential from Carolina R/C
It requires only custom hardened pinion gears.

Yes and no, it was a little bit on heavy side. I think sensored 9-10L with 4LiPo would be great.

Why would you want a Torsen diff in the center? I can see in the front and rear axles to prevent tire unloading, but the center diff helps tame wheelies. Since the Torsen sends power to the loaded wheels, it wouldn't stop wheelies at all.

Accually brian. by looking at the pic. It works off of friction.
If the diff has no pressure on one side it will accually unload.
So it won't wheelie or shouldn't. If you have a diff like that in a full size.
You have to ride the brake a little if one tire gets off ground to get the locked
feel and go. Different angle of the teeth on gears make it lock on more or less pressure.

I had 2 torsens Front and Center. But after front one ring gear broke I am back to all 3 open. Plettenberg picture was taken with 2 torsen diffs installed.

When it was working it was great on sand dunes, but hard on ESC.

Yes, torsens only transfer torque with the ratio preset inside differential, but if there is no torque (resistance) on spinning side then there will be no torque on opposite side either (0*X=0).

That is why true lockers (like ARB in Full size world) are preffered for rock crawling and serious mud :)

I liked the detriot locker. I ran that in rear with a true trac front. It was
designed like the torsen. It worked great together.

Thanks for setting me straight CHC and Griffin. I was under the impression it sent all power to the loaded side, but apparently it is "some", bit not all torque...
