The Thunder Power will be able to charge up to 10amps and 10 cells in series (Lipo). Otherwise, you could charge at a slower rate (and get a less expensive charger). And yes, 2 packs can be charge in parallel. I would recommend you pick up a balancer to occasionally balance the packs to keep them as a longer lasting investment.

do you have a link to were i can find the thunder power charger?
|
I am pretty sure it isn't out yet.
|
is there a charger that can charge 5s lipo at 10 amps and preferable be able to chage nimh to?
|
Hi guys, I am new to the boards and I am building a bl E-MAXX. I see yall are talking about LiPo's. Has anyone looked at maxamps.com? they have up to 8000Mah 11.1 v LIPo's! sounds real good. and they fit in a E-Maxx style tray.
|
Yes squeeforever, The intellipeak ice charger will charge both but It only chargers 1-4 LiPo's at 1C max. for Li-Ion/Li-Po). whatever that means.
|
Hi MM, welcome to this forum! yeah, we know about maxamps for sure!
Nothing fancy about those 8400 packs, it are just 4P 2100's, that's why they deliver the power they can. You can also make a 16800 mAh from it if you like @ squee; what 5000 packs did you find? is that 5000 on 1P? |
there tanic 5s2p
|
Squee, the Schulze chargers can do that, but I have a feeling that you don't want to dish out $250+. To be able to get the 10amp charge rate you are most likely going to have to spend $200+.
There is this charger: http://aircraft-world.com/shopexd.asp?id=3001 Can do 5s Lipo at up to 5.7amps (120watt maximum). It can do up to 25 NiMh cells. It is pretty cheap for what it does. I realize that it still does not meet your 10amp desire, though. |
using two chargers isn't that an option? to charge each pack in its own? that way you are able to balance the chargeproces as well. Pity they don't have got balancers that can communicate with eachother..
|
isnt there a balancer that will work with the astroflight?
|
Yes, using two chargers at the same time is an option. Now, why didn't I think of that? :(
The Thunder Power charger will be able to interface with the Thunder Power balancer, so the balancer can stop or change the charge if it finishes or if something goes wrong. |

I thinking go extreem put two of this on your truck.
Lipo 10500mA 14.8V 4S here you got the link it's a French site. http://www.directmodel.fr/Produits/F.../1/SFamille/51 No not the power is the limet the money is.:L: :L: :L: |
Those cells are not the thing you need.. it takes more than a 4S to run the 8 or 9XL on a savage.. and you don't want one pack hanging on one side on your savage either.
With those cells, the power IS the limit it the setup. it can max. throw out 1500 watts (if you replace the 2.5 mm2 wires) a 18 cell nimh setup can deliver about 1800 watts. you are able to get impressive runtimes with that lipo pack though. |
