Holy crap!!!!
I ran this thing down at The Grove today for a couple of hours untill the rain shut me down. The track was a little damp. Now my brand new buggy looks like a mud dobber. All I can say is: This thing is AWESOME! Like I said, I only got about 2 packs through it but man, it was looking good. It handles much better than my old Prospec. I was planning on getting down there to figure out what needed tweaking. But after running around the track for a bit. All I can say is: This thing is AWESOME!!!!  I didn't tweak anything. Of course I may once I get more track time. I can wait to get it back on a drier track. :mdr: Sorry, no pics this time. |

You know, I should add that I had to raise the front body mount to get the body to sit straight. Even with just a 5000 pack it was too tall for this tight new buggy.
I used an extra wing mount little washer thing. It looks factory.:mdr: |
Looks good. Now go win some races with it.

Well, I broke the left front upper hingepin retainer in the first 3 laps of the first qualifier yesterday.
With no extra parts I was done for the day. This is not a good way to get started with this buggy. :diablo: I only got a few minutes of practice then about 3 laps and it was broken. I may be a poor driver but I never broke any parts on my old Prospec. So far I've broken a front shock rod end and the hingepin retainer. Where's my old Prospec? :mdr: |
Ouch, I put over 2 hours of track time on mine yesterday with no issues. I had many crashes including a high speed head-on with a truggy that jumped out of his lane. Broke the truggys front end but the MBX6 held up just fine.
Oh ya, Off topic but I weighed the car at the track yesterday with a Medusa 36-60, moded mm & 5S A123 2300's. Mine came out at 7lbs/10oz. |
I went head on into a XXX-BK2 the other day cause it went off a jump into my lane, (well obviously my buggy is bigger), but my MBX-6 conversion remained unscathed the whole time...while I ruined the guys rear shock tower and right shock shaft.
I've gone into a roll at about 30mph and still nothing tweaked nor bent. Buggy has been solid with me. |
Well, I got too excited and forgot to take a dirty after the race shot.
It's all disassembled for cleaning. After 3 qualifiers and a 20 minute main it was a mess. We raced the final of a 3 race series at Wilkesboro NC this past Saturday. It was a memorial/benefit for the American Cancer Society and a local Hospice. It was also to remember local racer Don Tilley that I never met. He passed away from Cancer earlier this year I think. Anyway, I finished 4th in the main after a 2 minute pitstop to change my battery. And I finished 2nd in the overall points for the series. I'm getting better all the time. :mdr: http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...Plaques003.jpg |

what convertion is that?
|
It's a mix of RCPD and RC Monster.
I am using the RC Monster diff mount and battery tray with the RCPD top plate. As soon as Dan comes out with a battery tray for this buggy I'm going to get one. Unless Mike want's to redesign his tray. :mdr: It ran great today down at The Grove. I love this freakin buggy. I switched to a 3/1 toe block and I could definitely tell a difference. If I could drive as good as this buggy deserves to be driven I would be the champ every week. :mdr: |
It looks sweet! i cant wait to get mine going. do you have the links for the 3 parts you said? And will it fit the mbx5r?

Real nice. Mugen envy here. May sound like a dumb question but we can put this one in the inexperienced catagory. Is the red box a transponder?
