Candyman! It's certainly been a while since I've seen you post anywhere. Great to have you back.

Neu motors are expensive, but they most certainly are worth it. Alternatively, you could wait a lil' while for the CastleNeu 1515 1Y to come out, within the next month or so. Should be every bit as good as a real Neu in terms of power/efficiency, and it's built tougher for truck use. The 1Y is insanely powerful on 5 or 6S, but then again, your NiMH cells will really struggle with that motor; it sucks one heck of a lot of juice.

Sounds like the 2.5D might be the way to go for you.

yeh sounds the way to go, i'd think when castle bring them out the price will come down plus more will probably crop up on ebay. I'll get the controller and concentrate on making a chassis before I commit to a motor I think.

Did Arct1k send you price for his 1515/2.5D? I'm pretty sure he gave you a good price. If it was high, you can just get a Medusa 70mm 1600Kv motor.

Thanks for the info. I agree the limit will be the discharge of the nimh's, still I agree 2500 watts will probably be the limit for them. Im using good cells, candyman keeps it old skool with nimh! thing is I already have a few packs, plus I can pick up a set of 3 x 6 matched cells so cheap and make an awesome 18 cell pack for very little, seems better than switching to lipo.

I dont think the mgm will be a problem, the peak voltage on 6s may go too high but nimh stay pretty stable i think.

Ok im going for the mgm 18, 160. Im still struggling with the price of the Neu's ! hope they are worth it.

Candyman, the neu is almost 5 times the motor to an eqiivilent fegaio. I went from a 9XL to a 1515/2.5d (both around 1600kv) on 5s, The power difference is almost impossible to comprehend. I'm serious, the raw power goes beyond the numbers i have seen (2100W on the 9XL and 1800W on the 1515/2.5) It's strange, since running the Neu, i haven't broke 100 amps (117 was best on 9XL on 5s) but it has so much more power, it's unbelieveable. I wish i had my eagletree graphs on both, My computer messed up and i lost them
