I have a 1515 1y in my truggy on 5s, its borderline unnecessary.. rediculous amounts of power, remember it will be turning 45k on a fully charged pack:yes:

Im debating steping down to a lower kv.

I agree for racing 1600-2000 is the max kv you want with a 5s+ system, if you are running 4s 2200-2700 is fine depending on your gearing and speed needs.. higher kv = more speed, lower kv = more run time. To be honest reguardless of the motor I won't gear any race truck for over 42mph anymore, I actually like shooting for about 38mph to be honest.. more than enough top end and leads to slightly longer run times.

I run a 1515/2y on 10s...speed wise its equal to a 1515/1y on 5s, but runs cooler. I wouldn"t go any faster with the rpm's I feel it tops out there and any more speed it would be out of control

1515 1y (2200kv) is pretty good on 5s for bashing and maybe some bigger tracks. Too much power for most tracks though.

your right...i try it on 6 cell in my local track...:surprised:to fast and to powerfull:party:

I don,t race, im just a basher, so the extra power wont be unnecessary. Its either a 5s setup of just another pair of the polyquest lipos that i already have and love, i'm leaning towards the 5s setup because it will be cheaper and give me more power...win win

I think 2 spc 8k lipos for 4S would be plenty fast. They are great cels and will give you the most runtime. They are about 75 bucks each so its 150. The 8000s have 2 4000 cells in parallel. I have never been impressed with 5k cells by themselves for volt drop, but I've also never owned some of the nue batteries so I dont know.

I have my emaxx geared for 42 mph on 4S and I agree with Stum. After that it just becomes ridiculous power thats really not usable unless you want to dig gopher holes in your backyard with the tires.

If they would have gone 33mm then we could have fit the 5000 5s packs at truerc and we could have put 2 in parallel. That would have been just awesome. I am going to go with 2 of the 4s packs in parallel. That is the most runtime you can get in the revo.
