How fast does it go?

You can't put 20 cells on the 6XL. a think max 14cells
I also thougt this was how it is. how higer the rpm/volt the faster the motor.
But now one drive's a 6XL because it wil run to hot in your truck
And the run time is bad.
Your best will be the 8XL or 9xl it wil be faster on your truck
because it will run les hot and your run time wil be much longer.

Just look around this forum there are some grazy speed freaks out there.
And you will see that they don't drive a 6XL

I tried a 6XL based on another online shop's recommendation and I loved it -- for the two minutes it would run before the controller would thermal out and shut down. I could run it 1/2 throttle at about 15mph and STILL pull a wheelie. This was on a heavy aluminum Emaxx with the 9920 controller and 4s Lipo.

After the 9920 started to melt the shrinkwrap I went to a 7XL motor and am having much fun running for 20 minutes with no problems! (added a fan to the 9920 as well) I don't get quite the wheelie action I did before, but more battery might take care of that! :L:

So, if I were to do it over I would not buy the 6XL as I now have a pretty blue $90 paperweight that I have no idea what to do with...suggestions are welcome!!

In your case I might even go 8XL as it would be even easier on the controller I think.

Maybe your 6XL would be good on 3S in some smaller RC.

Onroad drift car?

The 6XL is bigger than the smaller RC cars I have!! It won't fit in my T2 or my TA04, and it would make the xxx-4 tip over with all that weight on that side!!

Maybe a BL hovercraft...yeah, that would be cool!!!

how bout the lehner motors. the one thats 250.00. is that one good and fast. what type of speed control do i need for that?

I run that one on my stocker emaxx. It will notbe good for a heavy emaxx. I think the 1940 wouldbe better than the 1930.

The 1940 is a very good motor!! one of the best. but the feigao's don't preform bad either. difference is in the quality of the rotor. the 1940 has got segmented magnets, which makes it better/ more efficient in partitial load.

But mike is selling wandere now no more feigao's the wandere seems to have a beter bearing tho.
And from what I have heard the lehner 1940 will be beter than a wandere but it wont be thet much tho and it is more then twice te price

I still have a bunch of Feigao motors. Just no xl Feigaos. The Lehner "19" series motors are a premium product sold for a premium price. The Feigao and wanderer is still the best bang for the buck available.

It is better, it has got segmented magnets and that's why it is better on a partitial load. it will get less hot, because of that AND because it should have got a higher efficiency. But like i said earlier. the 9XL IS the best bang for the buck.... you hardly will notice any difference, IF you notice any difference. the 9XL will be stronger than a 1940. it takes a 1950 to be equal in torque/power, and the 1950 takes 4mm bore pinions instead of 5mm.

Actually, Serum, I would put my money on the 1940 over the wanderer/feigao xl motor in terms of power output. It simply is a better motor, though the price is much higher as well. The 1950 motors also carry a 5mm shaft, and would definately out power the wanderer xl. The true benefit of the "19" series motors is the partial load efficiency(r/c cars are most often under partial load) and premium building materials. They will provide the power with greater efficiency, cooler temps and smooth performance.
Having said that, I doubt the average user would detect a difference in actual driving performance vs the cheaper wanderer/Feigao motors. If you are budget restricted, the wander/Feigao is the obvious choice. If you simply want the best, the micro controller and Lehner "19" series motor is the premium system.
