Are there any durability upgrades for these things? I can't find any pictures of the "internals" for ideas. The only pics I can find are the obvious ones on Kyosho's site. I'm still thinking of picking one up just to build a damn kit. Besides, with all of the snow here it could be put to use.

Aside from the bearing kit, I haven't been able to find any upgrades either. The gears inside are of a grayish cast metal (it isn't steel and I doubt it's aluminum (?)). The axles are all hardened steel.

Nice , i was going to build one of these a couple of years back but put a tank body on it , forgot all about it until now . Might have to re kindle that project :wink:
I remember even finding a dedicated forum for these things back then .

There are AFAIK one difference between the EV and DF-300, a brace in front to keep the chassis from bending.

I plan on running mine on 3S with either a Mamba 4600 or a Feigao/KB36

Wait a second- Is that a 2-speed??!! Is that only because it's a nitro? :neutral: That whole transmission looks different from mine.

Was that was a nitro version? When I bulit my EV blizzard i put a fast high tq servo in it for steering. WAY to much power. Now it has a standard futaba servo. I like the simple stock power train of the EV version.

Mine wheelies with a 2s lipo in it. On 3s it might flip over like my emaxx does on 4s :lol:

Thats is as you said due to the smelly exploding kind of powersource it uses.
