Little update... As the new body is bigger and wing has to come through the body, if i need to take body, ill have to take wing off also, so i made "quick release".

Made some update on my car, changed batterys from 4S to 6S and made new batterytrays as these new batterys are smaller.
Two Zippy Flightmax 2650mah 30C 6S in parrel, i just need connectors to finish my upgrade. If someone knows harder springs than Hobao truggy grey, please tell me, i have tried Losi purple springs, Reckward extra hard springs. Currently im using Hobao rear springs in front, so it doesnt need any preload and rear uses rear springs with 14mm preload, new batterys are little lighter also so it helped allready. Here are the pictures. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l1...h_IMG_3813.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l1...h_IMG_3814.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l1...h_IMG_3815.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l1...h_IMG_3816.jpg And if someone knows where i could buy carbon shocktowers, please tell me, i need to lighten my truggy. |
What kind of run times are you getting out of those two 3 cells?
I looked for CF parts for you for about 10 minutes... I can't seem to find anything; even on the Hobao site... |
heres a guy on rcuniverse that has them. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_62...68/key_/tm.htm
Heres a website in france? http://boutique.modelconcept.fr/index.php?cPath=53_78 |

TruggyLuva: Im using two 6S packs in parrel, so i have 5300mah to be used. Havent got to test it yet, as im waiting connectors from HC, should be shipped in few days. |
Just got to test my 6S setup, its awesome, i had to gear it down because 2200kv motor, i have 11t pinion (cant fit any smaller) but it was fast.
I have ordered medusa 80mm 1600kv motor, so i can have "normal" gearings. |
Why don't you try this motor from HC.
In the reviews you can read some have had great results in some MT's (I think it was an E-maxx). It's a beastly motor. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...hless_Inrunner I also read about some problems with it running hot. But you could just drill some holes in the front and read endbell to be sure... And ofcourse It's super cheap for some awesome power! Oh and that first motor you used, was that a KD36 motor from HC? They are known to be low quality... The KB45 motors however aren't! ;) |
Ill stick with Medusas, these are great i have allready ordered 1600kv version of 80mm and its on its way to here.
I wont buy any chines crap motors anymore im done with one dead motor. Anyway that KB45 wont fit as its too big (wide) thats why i use Medusas as those are 36mm. |
Hey, I love your conversion. I'm thinking about doing something similar but running a 12S set-up.
|
Hi Jabe, I have just bought the motor mount from rc monster. Its the only one i have been able to find. It states the motor will be situated rearward but yours is mounted front. Is it just a matter of turning it around? As i too would like the batts at the back of the chassis. I can probably work it all out when it arrives but a heads up on any problems you have had would be greatly appreciated.
|
Well its just turning it around if you use stock centerdiff, otherwise you might need to grind center stiffner abit.
But be aware that front brace limits motor and gearing just little, if you use 36mm motors and 52t spur, then your smallest pinion would be 11t. But its same even if you have motor in back. |
Here is something i came up with, removing esc battery wires, as mine has still plugs.
Havent tried it in truck yet, to see if it will work. Now i just wonder, should i still use CCBEC to power my steering servo, or should i leave it for MMM to handle. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l1...h_IMG_3871.jpg I could have made it to have one pair of plugs less, but ill need that Y-harness to charge my batterys and those CC 6,5mm plugs are tight, so it would be pita to tear them off each time. |

IDK about CF towers. Thought I read on the OFNA forums once that someone was making custom ones, but really, if you want to go all out and do things like that you are best off getting a more high end truggy in the 1st place. So the advice there went. Don't get me wrong, its a great truck, love mine, but it is what it is. |
I'm still using my MMM v2 to power my Rx and 333oz servo. Over a yr and no probs.
