Look for your self. basic you can be the judge. I don't race. I am hard on my trucks though. :D Maybe I should lighten up. I can't do that. |
the link isnt working for me. what cells are running also how hard are the 7xl and 9xl on the controller(9920) and how reliable are they
|
I run a 9xl currently on a 7020 with no problems. The 7xl was run on a schulze 18.97. The right gearing with 7xl is not problem. click on the website at the bottom of post

does anyone know what the 8xl is like
|
coolhandcountry, looks like your setup on 16 cells has very good power..dunno what sort of speed you was hitting in the video, but it did have impressive torque. On 12 cells it looks pretty medicore, but good runtimes I guess.
Given the choice, I think i'd still go for the 7XL on 16 cells, but I like balistic power, for runtime you can get IB4200 NIMH's or high capacity lipo's anyway :) |
I am currently running the 7XL with the 9920 with 16 GP3300 cells in my savage. The gearing is 12/51. The motor and esc gets under the hand warm tempeture. So it rusn really cool. I can gear higher if I want. With the 12 pinion I can get a really nice speed and runtimes are 10/15 minutes.
Here is an video of the BL J-savage  http://www.rcpics.net/media/Brushless_J-savage.wmv |
That is not what 16 cells are capable of mate.. you need a bigger pinion for sure! (unless you like this speed?) I thought you where a speedfreak too.. ;)

what is this BEC and UBEC stuff? no one around here seems to know much about brushless.

People here don't seem to know much about brushless, huh? You might change your mind on that if you look around a bit. There are some awesome people here that know a LOT about brushless, but maybe you are expecting too much without asking the right questions. |
i ment where i live

i ment where i live the only no alot about novak sorry for the confusion:o |
u guys know alot
|
Okay, that is better :). Usually in an area not too many people will know more than what they see with Novak when it comes to brushless, as they are ignorant little brushed people (hehe). I'll bet that 75% of the people that race at the nearby track (Socal RC Raceway) don't know what sensorless means.
|
everybody i race runs a novak of somekind i personally didnt know what sensorless ment until i looked here the owner of the track didnt know nor did anyone else i could find.
|
what are the advantages of the external UBEC device over the controllers BEC device?
