Not for a while. I think they're trying to fill orders for combos, Traxxas, and HPI right now. Once they can keep up with demand they'll be more readily available.

Right now you should be able to find them on eBay if you want one now.

Thank you, my kyosho has been waiting for it...:yipi:

Mike, when do you expect to get your stock? I've been checking the store everyday with no luck.

The 2650 combos are enroute and should arrive next week. :)

So is powering an RC8t with the 2200 way overkill? I like the 2650 but I would rather have more motor if I decided to go over 4s.

bensf 01.26.2009 12:31 AM

Is there any way we can get just the 2650kv motor? Other than eBay that is.

Put it this way. If you gear the 2200 with a 26 tooth and you gear the 2650 with a 22 tooth you will practically get the same results. Not that you would ever gear that high for either motor, but you get the idea. I have a 2650 kv combo on the way that i will be running on up to 5s. It's the same rpm as the 2200 on 6s so I should be fine for my intended use...

...of showing off in the parking lot for 20 minutes straight that is. lol.

Arct1k 01.26.2009 09:08 AM

Disagree - The 2650 is close to a 1512 and is suitable; for a buggy for a truggy / MT get the 2200 - I've been running both of these motors since september...

You will notice the difference.

That's what I was thinking for the RC8t. It seems with the lower kv you have more room to play with the battery. THX, I'm getting back into since the electric hay day of the RC10 so I'm learning.

You have tried both the 2200 and the 2650 in the same vehicle, geared to go the same speed? Was there a difference in the powerband?

I am aware that the 2650 is a 1512 and the 2200 is a 1515, but since they are both 1Y they will have roughly the same resistance and the charts of the neu motors confirm this comparing two lengths of the same wind. Actually the 2200 should have a touch more resistance due to the longer coils, but theoretically, if the resistance is the same in both motors, amp draw will be the same and therefore power since power = volts x amps.

Arct1k 01.26.2009 09:10 PM

I ran both on a GTP with similar gearing - obviously the 2200 is slower - will try to get some measurements on eagletree but that will be a while....

rotary rocket 01.26.2009 09:22 PM

Sorry for being off topic...

Bensf, I live in Moraga. I guess we are neighbors. Where do you bash? We should get together one of these days and run our trucks.

Now back on topic. I read a posting by CC that mentions they prefer the 2200 even in a buggy! Now I'm confused, I thought they made the 2650 for 1/8th buggies!!!

That would be cool if you could get some measurements. What i meant was the 2200 geared with a pinion gear 26.5/22 = 1.2 times as big to get the same top speed for both motors, thats all.

If you want a 70+ MPH Buggy go for the 2200. If you want it to be controllable I'd stick to the 2650.

Nope, you're not dreaming, you heard right, a massive pallet of the Castle Neu 2650Kv (based on the Neu 1512 series) has finally arrived! :yipi:

This first batch will only be packaged with combos, as we don't have quite enough to fulfill all of our current backorders.

But for those of you who have been patiently waiting for the 2650Kv combo, the wait will soon be over! We will be doing some spot testing to verify they're up to spec, and then they'll start rolling out. So get your buggies ready, your LiPo's charged and have some spare parts handy because they'll be up and running shortly.

Remember these are shorter than the 2200Kv (based on the Neu 1515), so they're intended for the 1/8th buggies and not the monster trucks.

Thomas, when do you think we'll be able to buy the motors only?
