Nice looking cars guys! I plan one for down the road, right now I'm at the wifes' cap on toys until we have a larger place or I sell something. But if i sell something right now i'll be throwing that money at my 1:1.

I'm having a hard time figuring out which kit to get...GTP or Pro. From what I gather, the Pro comes with the hardened ring gears in the diffs, different rear shock tower/shocks, and a body with mounts (which I'll probably replace the body). I'm not following the offset changes though. I'm looking to build a high-speed basher, no racing here. Is the Pro more suited to turning one direction only? Would the GTP be better for me? I'm really attracted to the low GTP price, but I'm thinking I'd have to buy body mounts and hardened ring gears from what I gather, but I figure this would be cheaper than the ~$120 premium over the Pro kit, unless there is something else I'm missing here that would make the Pro be a better choice.

Anyone get a good handle on the difference between the GTP and Pro, and what the offset differences in the Pro do in relation to an electric conversion? (I'm thinking MMM/2200/6S)

I have heard great things about the DM-One Spec 1/8th as well. The front has the pushrod suspension like the 1/7th DM-One while the rear has the standard shock setup. Comes with the protoform PF8 body as well.

I have both the Ultra GTP Dirt Oval and the DM-1 Spec. If I were to make a recommendation, then it would be the DM-1 Spec. If $$$ is an over riding factor, then go for the Ultra GTP because the Dirt Oval is almost twice the price and you don't really get that much extra for the $$$-IMO.

Check my picasa in my signature and my posts here and you will hopefully obtain enough info to help you in your decision making process.
