Yeah, even set correctly the servo could overpower the sidewinder bec, just sitting on smooth tile. The sidewinder has a miserable bec, even my tamiya escs can do better. This is on 3s lipo, not sure if the linear design is better on 2s (should make less heat)? Pity, as this is the best crawler esc I can find, and at 60 bucks it is a steal...

Well if you think about it, another $15-30 for a BEC isn't too bad either...

You can get the ccbecs off ebay for 22.35 shipped... I just bought 2, and 3 sidewinders (well I bought one and traded for the other 2). That will get may scale project and the clod powered.

I had the same problem on my cr-01, switched over to a mamba maxx and all is well. Sidewinder with a cc bec is on my hilux although it has a hitec 645mg steering servo.

this all depends on terrain and rock composition, badlands suck here:whistle:, that and I have never heard of badlands winning out against the claws ever in a big comp or any comp for that matter:rofl:
