check out holmeshobbies - he has specific crawler brushless motors...

yes you need a ubec - the mm can't cope with a 5955/7955 in a crawler.

I know nothing about crawler motors . what model would you suggest ?.

skellyo 02.17.2009 10:44 PM

Use the external BEC since they're 3S Lipos.

The only one I've ever used was an Axi 2217/16. I was quite happy with it though. It's just not as affordable as a lot of other options.

Do most guys use reverse in a crawler ?.

also for those using a MM in a crawler . What settings are good starting points ?.

johnrobholmes 02.18.2009 02:33 PM

We use reverse a lot, unless you are in a comp setting.

I like the crawlmaster and the revolver motors. They work well with the MM.

I would suggest no punch control, max startup power, full reverse, full brakes, and 100% drag brake. The timing doesn't really make a difference for me, but maybe you will notice something.

Hi John i was waiting for you repliy  . would those setting work with a brushed motor ?. Your crawlmaster motor motor was recomended to me . Im thinking about getting one . Im just not sure if i want to try the integy first or just get your motor . I will also be using 3s lipo, if that makes a difference in settings .

Do i want to use the Foward- brake reverse setting or the foward with reverse lockout setting ?.

skellyo 02.18.2009 03:04 PM

You want forward to reverse...no lockout.

rchippie 02.18.2009 03:07 PM

What wiring to the motor should i use for a brushed motor . There is the high power way were all 3 motor wires go to the negitive . Then there is the way with just two wires red & black to the negitive & positive plugs on the motor, no white wire is used ?.
