Bah, get 6s!

On 6s can you run the 20t pinion or do you have to run the 25? There is a guy on ausrc.com who is being told he smoked his ESC on 6s as he was undergeared, but my understanding was undergeared = hot motor, not blown esc! Also seems strange to gear "higher" for 6s than 4s

I just picked up a pair of 5s 2500mAH packs to run in a parallel setup for my E-revo, so 5s 5000mAH 25c. Packs are supposed to be highly underrated (can take 70c burts without dipping below 3V per cell). Picked them up for $120 each, thats $7 less per pack than i paid for my polyquest 2s 5000mAH 30c harcases that i use in series for 4s.

Definately a good price on a great lipo. I will second the use of a pair of 5s packs in parallel, seems like the best bet for the 2200kv motor.

I took my Flux out this arvo, still a good 30-31c (90f) out, lost the 4 shock spring retainers in the first 2-3 minutes but persisted, with the crime fighters it was uber low (probably dragged a bit at times) Certainly wasn't chucking a wheelie that low!

Motor peak temp was 165f
Batteries 125f
Speedy 117f (but I did hear the fan come on)

Batteries were 2 * Harris 5000mah 2s 30C Hardcase Lipos


although I think the bottoming out probably increased my amp draw and temps a tad.

I will say this, this thing is FAAST on 4s, I ordered a pair of 3s Zippys today for a 6s set up, but I'm almost scared to try it!

That's strange that you lost some of the preload spacers. I have had some horrific crashes end over end with mine and haven't lost any of them.

Just got my flux tranny off ebay and opened it up. Why did HPI leave 2 gears on the top shaft and idle shaft? Is it really adding any strength? The big gear on the idle shaft is wobbly, not sure why they would make it like that. I would have just made teh gears wider if they wanted more strength. opinions

I ordered a few 3s Zippys also. I am hoping they are going to fit w/o any modification to the trays. Which ones did you buy? I bought the 20C 4000mah's.

Top shaft is the same as the nitro. Not sure why the large gear on the center shaft wobbles, may need shims...

I am running 6S and I had to dial it down to about 5S using the Travel adjustment on throttle. 6S is way to much for this thing. It turns into a massive load floating on ballons.:gasp:

I agree..Its nice to know that you pull it full throtle and have more power than say pull it full throttle and get no more gas...its like a scooter sure it feels fast right when you pull that throttle, but after awhile your still hitting 30mph and it takes you 15 more mins to get to 40 while a ducatai its nice to have power on demand WHEN NEEDED.

instead of using two 5s packs in parallel, could you not use a 2s and 3s pack together? So long as the mah and c ratings and brand were the same. i was just curious as i wanted to try my flux on 5s to see what its like as 4s is fun but id like a little more.

i have a hyperion charger i would use to sync them as a 5s pack. what are your thoughts?
