Ran the revo hard yesterday at the track for almost 1 hour straight and wow. The lap times it put down would have placed me 3rd in the A-main truggy race the week before and was 4 secs faster a lap then the A-main winner in Monster truck, which was btw me...lol. Fastest lap this year in the Outlaw Monster truck MT class was/is 45.25sec, my Revo ran a 41.26 sec lap. I am stoked!!!

If you are that happy w/your performance, and you seem to be, as well as weight distribution...which you also seem to be, I will try your set up w/the e-maxx trans in my 3.3 conversion w/ 2 batts. and we shall see what happens.

Thanks for the help and info...much appreciated

Congrats!!! I might very well try your setup too like Magman has stated. I'm glad I asked if the tranny was from Erevo or not :lol:. I can use the TeknoNeu 1515 1 Y I just received back from Neu for repairs after the bearings grenaded :gasp::gasp:.

Thanks for sharing your experience and setup.

Edit: were you running 4 or 5S when you put down those lap times?

I ordered the e-max 3905 trans. tonight...I hated to order it piece by piece, but, since traxxas does not sell a complete trans.,.. :whip:...I had no choice.

I look forward to completing this build.....I am anxiously waiting on Mike to finish the hybrid cases, then order the new Tekin 1700kv Truggy combo and BAM done!:yipi:

2X 3S in parrallel. Have to have LONG runtimes and keep weight down.

Works awesome....motor, ESC and Batts never get hot....

The main key is shave weight where you can. Keep plastic on everything that can take the abuse.

Our 3rd race of the year is today....so we'll see how she does on lap times with long mains. As long as she is under my old truck times consistently, I'll be happy.

LOL, yeah not bad. We took 1st and 3rd yesterday against some stiff competition.

I was very happy with the Revo. Had the fastest lap of the event with a 41.63sec lap. Faster then truggy and 1/8th buggy...hehe. The truck that heat was on rails. After she broke at the end of the 2nd heat, the camber and toe in were way off and the truck was tough to get around the turns, but still ended up 1st. Blake would have swept 2nd, but had some probs in the middle of the main and limped it home.

Well done! Were you still running 3s in parallel or a different set up.

After hearing your success, it solidifies the decision I made to go this route.

jzemaxx 03.22.2009 05:24 PM

Yes 3s only. The truck simply is the best I have driven so far. Even Blake will probably tell you the balance and driveability is better then even the erevo.

Urgeoner 03.22.2009 05:57 PM

Hey nice looking setup. Wont the 3905 motor mount fit on a gorillamaxx transmission? I already have gorillamaxx transmission and if the 3905 mount would fit then I'll just buy the mount instead of the whole 3905 transmission.

I was going to run 6s, but, may be I will rethink that and drop down to 4 or 5s
