Question tho. Are all the replacement parts custom to RCM? Obviously the spur and case and all, but what about the internal gears, slipper pads and other misc things? I know at one point Mike said he wanted avoid using OEMs for parts as they may discontinue parts at any time.

What is the price? Missed that too, tho we'll see it soon enough.

Arct1k 03.27.2009 10:44 AM

IIRC $129.99 was the target price...

I have ever confidence that mike will make spares available...

Semi Pro 03.27.2009 10:51 AM

bye bye center torsion diff, hello slipperential

I'm sure he will, and I sincerly hope its a good revenue stream for RCM. Mike deserves it. I'm just wondering how much ended up being custom.

I don't see an answer to the question of what truggies will this fit & what won't it fit?

Is it limited by the vehicles overall mass?

Does it lock the centre under extreme accelleration like a tractive IV or torsen to push the power to the wheels with grip?

BP-Revo 03.28.2009 12:23 PM

Right now it is unknown of what truggies it will fit and it won't fit.

Once it comes out, between all the users who buy it, I'm sure there will be a running list made of what it will easily drop into without mods, drop in with minor mods, or take a fair bit of mods to install.

Also, the differential is a normal differential, no torsen type activity involved.

It simply acts like a regular, fluid-filled differential that has a slipper clutch between it and the spur gear to absorb drivetrain shock just like the slipper clutches found on the transmissions of many monster trucks (Revo, E-Revo, T/E-Maxx, etc.).

Mozzy 03.28.2009 12:28 PM

Oh ok, thanks for clearing that up.

You just saved me $130USD.

bruce750i 03.28.2009 01:27 PM

I wonder what section of the RCM store it will be in? Gears/Tranny?, New stuff?

Hardstyle 03.28.2009 06:26 PM

Metallover 03.28.2009 06:36 PM

Wow. 53 peices in one center diff assembly. It what it takes for a supper CD assembly!

Hardstyle 03.28.2009 06:40 PM

Yeah, Mike has obviously done a good job to get 'em all in so compact shape
