if you get the 9xl you could gear it high as and it will probably still wheelie! and the top speed would be fast as!!

Ok, say you have a truck. You put a xl motor in it, gear it so the wheels spin at 50mph. Then you put a s motor in it, gear it so the wheels spin at 50mph. All things being equal, will both setups pull the same amount of amps?

They won't pull the same number of amps. They might be close, but the XL could pull more simply because it weighs more, or the S could pull more because it can spool up faster (lighter weight rotor).

Thanks for the replys guys. Such fast responses too, awesome forum! I guess now all there is to do is try it and see. I will be using 2.2" wheels also so that should drivetrain stress. I will start at 12 cells and work my way up until something breaks. Then I will have "enough" power.;)

As long as the motor resistances are the same, overall power should be about the same.
