Progress?

I have the muggy rear driveshaft, and am waiting on the flux tvps. Once they come in I can mock the rear of the truck up and figure out what I need to do to the front. Wheelbase will be right at 15", so I need to add a few inches to the front of the tvps I will be making. I like the 25 style tvps more than the X, but whichever front section works better with the flux rear is what i will use for mockup. Cutting the new tvps will not take long, I plan to make them symmetrical save for the area next to the motor which will be clearanced for a flux-style esc mount.

Still waiting on the motor back from neu...

So your still going for a longer wheelbase then the flm tvps give? Last i talked to you you talking about the 1/5 size but looks like you toned it down some.

Yeah, the 15" wb fits the proline 650 body almost perfectly. I have the body, and the front muggy shaft was 7 bucks, so it is a cheap build. A sheet of the 6061 al was 20 bucks, and I have everything else laying around.

My buddy is still working on the 5th scale chassis for the savvy. He is doing one for the 5t body, and also another to fit the 5b desert rat conversion 5t body for me. Should be nice. I have the power system for that lined up save for a good HV esc. I think Lutach will be able to provide me with something...

Hopefully you get something worked out soon, wouldnt mind a better balanced setup at least but the 5t size is exciting.

I should have it mocked up by this weekend, and hopefully get the tvps cut too.

Just received the TVPs (yay) and had a look at it mocked up. Looks like it will be pretty easy to cut them out. Battery mount may be a bit high up, but it is a monster truck... Balance side to side seems good with the motor offsetting the lipo. Wheelbase is very close to the 650 body, which I am happy about.

Hmm, I think my 15" wb truck will be a bit better than his setup...

My battery mounting will be higher, but I do not think that will cause my much issue.

While my battery mounting may be a bit higher it will place more of the weight over the front wheels. That will help handling. Plus it is a basher, not going to try to race this beast. Might just sell it when I am done anyways.

...interesting comment...

...we hardly treat him like a god though...He does dedicated e-sav designs and he does them very well...as he is the only maker doing that then we try to look after him as much as he looks after the us / the platform...plain and simple...

...I was merely showing the link because it was similar...thats all...Now back to your regular programming...

...Linc i like what you have done / are doing...Just adds more variety to the mix...

All of it is very nice. I know where to look if I want to make my XL even bigger (temping!) Can't wait to see some photos Linc!

I have one of the tvps outlined, just need to drill the holes and cut the hole for the tranny. The second tvp should go quickly.

Heres a few pics for you people with no imagination...

A shot of the addl length that I added in front of the tranny, 4.2cm to be exact.

Rear is identical to the flux tvp, as is the front.

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...p/DSCF3340.jpg

Looks like the material I am using is slightly thicker than the stock flux tvp.
