...and nothing better to do apparently.

Most likely...

Always Dreamin 04.14.2009 06:13 PM

just had a major brain fart! the triton 2 has a 5s limit... so that leaves me to just pick out a 4s setup.

Takedown 04.14.2009 06:17 PM

May I ask why you excluded a 5s setup?

Isn't 45k rpm too much on a BL motor?

I also think 5S would be nice for you... Mike has some nice 5S 4500 packs that should give you good run times at 538g so it's pretty decent weight wise (well under 600g) and run times should be well over 15min more like 20ish. A 1900kv motor would give you right about 35k rpm, which is from what I understand the rpm you are looking for in a buggy running BL.

Another setup that is REALLY tempting me would be running 6S with mike's 2600 packs, they only weight 380g and will last a good 10 min racing, with a 1500kv motor this could be a really killer and cool running setup.

Man, sooo many options :)

brushlessboy16 04.14.2009 08:29 PM

or you could always run a dual 3s setup...

45k does sound high, try to get your setup to rev between 35-40k.

Betcha he brings up how charging will take to long ben. ;) But ya thats what i'd do if i had a 5s limited charger.

Always Dreamin 04.14.2009 10:49 PM

what about charge times? but yeah... 2 hour charge times are not exactly what i want. And Ryan, I don't know why i excluded 5s. I guess i either wanted to have a nice 4s setup, or go all in with 6s. I don't do middle stuff too much.

i can charge them at night, but then once they are gone... 2 hours later and I am finally running again. I figure if i go 4s, i'd get good runtimes, along with a cheap setup. (hw 80a esc) And FYI my biggest concerns with a BL conversion is cost, and runtimes. and 2 hour charge times will only make me frusterated.

Who called it! If you get two 3s 5000mah lipos and wire them in parallel and hook it up to the charger just run it as a 3s 7000mah pack. It will charge it at 1c only so thats the only way possible to be able to charge as close to 1c as possible. It should be fine seeing how the t2 has an overvoltage protection.

Takedown 04.15.2009 12:01 AM

Oh and your going to need a 7a or higher ps. I would just sell the t2 and the ps and buy a 6s charger from UH. That way you can charge in around an hours time.

Always Dreamin 04.15.2009 12:02 AM

New charger was not in the budget... i'd rather go 5s at that point

that reminds me...

Takedown 04.15.2009 12:07 AM

You could buy a brand new 6s ac charger and a 10a powersupply for the amount that you could the t2 and ps... UH is dirt cheap.

Always Dreamin 04.15.2009 12:22 AM

A $300 setup, a $200 roller, a $45 motor mount, the LAST thing i would think about is a new charger. not that i don't want one, but 5s should be plenty fast.

Takedown 04.15.2009 12:38 AM

Exactly.
