Try to help and look where it gets me - LOL! Changed back!

It needs to say a Medusa with a 5mm shaft is a much wiser option.

That would make sense considering your previous statements.

Look at this, a bunch a fookin critics.. Hey, that's what you get for asking free advice on the intarweb! Lucky I didn't link to a bunch of Russian porno sites lol.

It was in the context of the broken shafts, so made sense to me. 50/60mm, I don't care. If you don't like it, go piss! Its Friday, its a nice day, and I'm going home to have a nice beer and fix my Savvy! Lates and have a nice weekend gents!

OK she came in today!

First off.. gearing is a 3.9 to calculate with (NOT the same as the crt .5)
Stock spur is 42t, stock pinion is 14t (matches nitro)

Second off this thing is simply AMAZING!

#1 open box
#2 stare
#3 stare some more and smile
#4 take it to my work bench and remove all diffs (running 7k, 10k, 3k) -re-install
#5 install my new Medusa 36x50mm 4800kv (taping the ends to keep dust down inside it)
#6 install mamba and my micro spektrum Rx on the top brace over the center diff
#7 install servo and set
#8 zip tie servo wire to motor mount to keep it from swinging around and getting caught up in the center diff
#9 make some nice pulls
#10 slap a couple stickers on the wing while I wait for hte body to dry
#11 run around the house for a minute, sill smiling big :)
#12 cut up some lexan for rear mud guards (about the only thing left off this bad boy)

I will finish up painting the lid tomorrow.. but here are some pics of the install.. crt .5 owners it's ok if I were you I'd be jealous too!!

The pics!!

Beautiful! How is your servo mounted?

stum 04.22.2009 11:35 AM

That is the stock mounting location for the servo. It's a nice bracket actually... but again stock.

Here is a quick video of some racing at the track ;) w/ the current setup.. I did find it liked to nose dive a little if you are not careful.. not sure yet if that is just my driving or the truck as it is a LOT harder to correct yourself in mid air w/ these small trucks than with a 1:8 scale :)

Nice looking truck you got there. I know they are tough and you'll have a lot of fun with it. Very nice track.

how balanced is this truck with the battery on one side?

I have been eyeing this for about a week. I have a VXL and lipo ready for it.
I know you all are saying stay away from that set up, but it would work for now.

"crt .5 owners it's ok if I were you I'd be jealous too!!"
I picked up the mini hyper truglet, but I prefer the crt.5 myself(even with a stock chassis conversion). Of course both my crt.5s have my chassis installed(v2 on 1 and v3 on the other). Cool little trucks, though(both the crt.5 and mini hyperst). :)

Mike can you post some side by side pictures comparing the Hyper ST and the CRT.5?

Why do you prefer the CRT .5? Just curious.

Very balanced.. motor on one side battery on the other.

VXL will work, but it'll need to be geared a bit tall due to the low Kv

motors tried in comparison on minies

let me start by saying that i spent alot of money buying and trying a lot of big name comercialy available motors and esc combos.Because i live in oc., CAand am close to NOVAK,TRINITY,Assosiated,ORIAN ect. i started out with aGTB witch i already had and an Orian 10.5 .im running an RCM crt .5 so im alittle heavier than your hyper mini, by around 1 lbs 6oz. so the 10.5 worked but wasnt fast enough to race so i got talked into a 4.5 LRP that halled but broke very quickly because it frankly has a weak asembly design.it ran long enough to work out the gearing at 9 or 10 tooth mod 1 and would come off at 160 deg so i cant change the spur '46th' and 4.5 was crazy so i got a Orian 6.5 ant it seemed perfect coming off at 140/150deg and very fast but wile bashing .it went 200deg in two min.all this was on2s 46 th spur 9/10 pinion so i gave up and put an HV 7.5 on 3s 14 to 16 th and itll run all day at 140deg bashing or raceing. for what its worth good luck and dont forget to have fun!
