Did you check that everything is working OK in the rest of the driveline?? My thought from looking at the carnage is that something locked up and the motor just torqued the heck out of the motor mount.
I had something similar on my truggy albeit not as bad that my heat sink for my Medusa one of the fins got cause by the center diff outdrive and I wasnt paying attention and gave it some throttle, it actually spun the heatsink right under the motor, which it doesnt actually fit under!!!! I would check that everything is working right in the driveline personally. |
I would bet if you would of had your lid on during the crash you would not have bent the motor mount like that. I know it is tempting but you should never WOT when you do not have a lid on, especially when you are uncertain of the capabilities of your truck on a first run.:smile:

All of the driveline is still smooth and operating normally, so that wasn't it. I am thinking the problem might have been the shaft "float", but I am not sure.
Mike, I have already hammered the mount flat again, do you still want me to send it in...or will you allow me to send it in for replacement still? I don't really want to run the mount anymore since I know that bending aluminum back into shape weakens it. Please let me know and also give me the address to send it to (if it's ok to send it back still), and I will get it sent out in the morning. Thanks, Mike...you really are the best! On a side note, what is the highest gearing I can run without overheating anything? Apparently 15/36 is just way too torquey, heh! |

Is Mikes motor mount adjustable front-to-back as well as side to side?

If he's still using the same basic one I used, then no.

The motor can be moved side to side, but the mount is mounted firmly to the chassis, which is how (I believe) it should be.
