semi pro no i am not a hater just a realist. yes you have spent a lot of money buying various lightweight parts that the cars i have weighed didnt have but we are talking about almost a pound here not a few ounces.
you are claiming your car weighs about 680 gms less than the lightest losi 8b i have weighed. that car had a lighter motor and esc combo than yours by about 50 or so gms. but did have a 500gm 4s 5000 pack.
your car between the carbon parts and battery choice will adds up to a 267gms savings.
your motor and esc is heavier than the one i weighed. so you are saying that the various lightweight pins and bearings add up to about a 450 gms or 1lb weight savings?
i can see maybee 5-6 oz but not 16.
the only reason i get into these arguments about weight is i dont want guys putting together a car, throwing it on the scales and be dumbfounded as to why their car weighs a pound more than what some other guys have reported.
if your car race ready is truely anywhere near 6.5 lbs then you have done something special.

If you race anyplace with rules, 6.5lbs will be too light!

are you weighing your car with those onroad tires in your signature pic? you always have to pick your tires/inserts based on what works where you race. how much did you spend on those fancy hinge pins and axles?
like i said, i have weighed about 6 losi 8b cars and all are race ready no bs cars. true none of them have ti hinge pins or super expensive lightened axles but still they weigh close to a pound more than some of the reports i get from a few other guys.
and yes i have compared my digital fish scale to my local post offices scales more than a few times and it is within 10gms.

7.25lb with the stock losi wheels and pins which are 450grams total. With the tires picture, my car would be even lighter. My scale is precise to within .05 grams, but anyway you got me. I am also using modified L8ight shock towers with front shocks in the rear, which seem to benefit on anything except huge jumps, due to the slight decrease in suspension travel (it's not as much as you would think however and decreases body role quite a bit eliminating the need for sway bars). That saves another 35g plus 14 or 28g grams for the lack of sway bars (i forgot which). All the plastic that I have cut to lower the battery tray, increase air to the motor, improve the look of the rear wing must subtract about 10g as well.

You see, I've done almost everything in the book to decrease weight except for switching to carbon fiber. There are a lot of little things that I didn't mention, but they all add up.

The fioroni drive axles are $57 at amain, almost twice as much as the stock ones and the titinium turnbuckles and hingepins were $78. I've had my 8ight for almost two years, so as you can see, upgrades and mods have accumulated.

And btw, wheel/tire sets can vary by 1/2 of a lb. Choose wisely. Associated makes 83mm wheels that are advertized and are actually 33g per wheel, and panther slicks are some of the lightest tires you can buy at 46g each. Lighted outdrives will save you a dismal 0.9grams a set. They should be the last thing you consider upgrading.
