That sucks man...

EAA is a big thing for pilots if I remember correctly. Kinda the national private pilot airshow.

My brother in law recently sold his Rx7... looked about like yours but without the fresh damage. LOL Anyway... his was one freakin nasty car. Not sure what all he did to it, but it would seriously smoke almost any car you will see on the road, in street racing.. rolling start. These aren't the greatest off the line, but from a rolling start, there isn't much that can keep up.

Not long ago, a guy in a tricked 4wd porsche came up beside him and laid on it trying to show off. At the next light, they turned a corner and my BIL got on it.... and the other dude just turned at the next corner and bailed. He didn't want anything to do with that little RX7 LOL

I've been in some really fast cars... even some stuff built for the drag strip. But nothing as scary as this car on street tires ha ha

trev3813 08.01.2009 02:43 AM

hey man, i also got out of rc for dh mtbing tho, im getting a 96 Suby =]

BP-Revo 08.01.2009 02:45 AM

RX7's can put down serious power, and since they aren't all that heavy (at all) they move out very well.

My bro's friend had an 800whp Supra once. Traction problems at 80mph on drag slicks...

collecting the money and doing it yourself is insurance fraud, might not want to post that too much on the net...

good to hear from you and congrats on finding that low mile gem!

did you just want to kill the a-hole that side swiped you? my temper gets away from me in those instances:whistle:

just because you're getting out of r/c doesn't mean you have to leave RCM. I want to see vids of that thing moving out! peace

still im not paying 1800bux to have a shop repair some minor damage and paint scratches... id rather do it myself and keep the cash for savings. and like someone stated before the rx7 is average off the line but when you get above 25mph or so it really turns into a bullet.

It is not ins fraud. The ins co is responsible to pay to have the car repaired properly. What you do with the money they give you is your own business. Trust me, 17yrs at a body shop....

Anyways, keep in mind the ins will try to screw you by writing a low est. So make sure you do some research and take a good look at the damage on the car compared to the est they give you. Just my $.02, but I do it for a living...

Yea i went to 5 body shops and got est's from each. i took the first highest and 2nd highest and those are the ones which i will be showing to his insurance agent once he arrives to take a look at the damage. so far its between $1500-$2500. pretty much anybodys guess.

Huh? Does that vary state to state? To be clear, I would do the same exact thing, pocket the money and do the repair myself. But I was sure you were atleast required to fix your car, and I thought doing it yourself was a no-no. If you were honest with the insurance company they certainly wouldn't give you as much money to do it yourself, but insurance is kinda a scam anyway.

I like Wisconsins insurance law. It is not illegal to drive without insurance, however, it is illegal to get in an accident without insurance. Better look out for the other guy!

glassdoctor 08.03.2009 12:53 AM

If it's the other party's insurance company, they have to pay you. You can choose to do whatever you want after that. Take it to a shop, do it yourself, or just go buy a new ps3 and 60" lcd....

Takedown 08.03.2009 02:06 AM

yea that insurance law makes no sence. i as just paying for liability but now that i own a potentially expensive car when it gets all fixed up im going to get full coverage.

Unsullied_Spy 08.03.2009 03:45 AM

IDK about Wisconsin but I've been hit a few times (gotta love dumb broads) and if it did enough damage to even bother with I'd buy used parts to replace the damage and pocket the rest, how many people can say they've made money from their car?

1:1 can get pricey, but it's not too bad if you're smart about it. You can get that little thing to straight-up boogey with $2,000 or so. I'm debating between a Barrett M95 and a build-up of the engine in my Mustang right now, they both cost quite a bit but compared to what I've spent on RC it's nothing.

Takedown 08.05.2009 05:40 PM

Yea i try to stick to exaust/intake/computer upgrades. alot cheaper than other stuff you could do.
